what kind of spacers do you use ?

I want to use some to maximizes the angle kit + spindles I have, fronts hit the LCA...

Kind? Do you mean size? Depends on your wheel offset and width.

I have MS01 17x8 up front and use a 50 mm spacer.

What are your wheel offsets? You can start there. Usually you want to be as close to 0+ offset. It really all depends on your set up. I personally hate spacers and rather buy the right wheels for my set up. Spacers can come lose!!!!

I am not a big fan of spacers either, I have run them before and it changes the steering feel quite a lot.

I was curious if there was such a spacer in that it would be a perfect cover for our hubs, what is our thread sizes anyway ?

I am running 17x9 mb competition's up front with, I believe, +22 offset

12x1.5 thread pitch.... the hub centric spacers you can get off ebay for $85 are actually real nice


IIRC the 17x9's are a +27mm.... I have MB comps (because theyre cheap and I dont feel bad destroying $500 worth of wheel opposed to putting the Works on and wasting $1500.. so we let the Girfriend's RX8 be baller) 17x9 +27. W/O spacers the wheels were Sunk in the back and rubbed the LCA up front. with 20mm front fenders and about 25mm roll/pull in the back.. a 30mm spacer all the way around took care of it. (gotta pound out the front of the inner wheel well a little for rubbing.

I recently dropped down to a 17x8 +22 in the front with a 10mm slip-over-the-lug spacer. and 245/40/17 tire. IMO with the 20mm over fenders in the front, the wheels sticking out wayyy past the fenders up front looks odd if you dont have the car Dumped...and my car isnt dumped. It has about a 1 finger wheel gap up front, and 2 in the rear.

The 17x8's with the 10 mil spacer sit nice and flush. It just doesnt have the stretch on the sidewall.

Ebay spacers. make sure theyre 12x1.5 thread pitch. you could've asked me.. it's not like i have the same spindles, with the same car or anything..

Guess I like more than 1 opinion on things, you already I had spacers before, I was mostly curious as to what other people were running too.

Get Nuts Labs spindles are pretty nuts, i'm still bottoming out my wheel on the LCA with a 30mm spacer, and 5mm ring spacer with extended ARP studs.

If you get fenders wider then 30mm, or mount them wider away from the chassis you may be able to fit a 50mm spacer, and take full advantage of the angle. Everyone pretty much runs the EBAY UNIVERSAL spacers from what i've seen. the only downside to them is they come with lugs that tend to strip over a year of use (faster if you tighten them improperly obviously) but i have the part numbers for replacement studs locally to eliminate this issue.

you should be fine with a 30mm spacer, and possibly a 5mm ring spacer, as i'm running 17x9.5 + 17 upfront, and you're running a half inch wide smaller wheel .2" closer to the chassis so it's almost similar, but a little further away compared to mine.

totally agree on that... I've seen a bunch of people strip or gaul the threads on their spacers. Mostly from gunning them on with a Battery Impact and over torquing. I put a little bit of Anti Seize on the threads and try not to Slam wheels on with the Impact all the time. It seems to help, but the lesser grade steel always loses.

Ebay!!!! I have one inch up front and one and a half inches in the back. I've never had a single problem with them.

I never use an impact on my lugs. Breaker bar and german torque specs. My friends have lost wheels rolling down the highway. Cross pattern plus anti seize+common sense=shit works.


Ugh there's another way. If you have an fd they make tubular control arms for your car. If you have an fc, we dont have them yet (paging jtp, paging driftworks, paging pbm, paging rotaryworks/rene) you can just have your lower ball joints extended. Not only does it space the wheel farther away from the lca and keeping the point of rotation closer to the centerline of the wheel. Just like....test them out in a safe environment and have someone who knows what they are doing weld them up so you dont die or kill someone else.

I feel like a broken record. Everyone hits the "easy" button......

Edit: No, i haz not extended my ball joints yet. I've been fighting my car for about two months now and finally am able to drive it on the street again. I'll get to it though. I'd rather do that than run spacers up front. Hands down.

I too am running 50mm up front and 25mm in the rear.

With any spacer that has new studs pressed in -make sure they are seated properly -torque you wheels down -drive it a few feet -torque again.
