wheel hop issues
Ok so i have stock suspension on my fc3 ( lame I know ) and the toe ( i think toe ) is off on the passenger rear tire, its angled in towards the car by around 2 degrees, car slides very easy in my opinion but at hard angles with the passenger side trailing I get insane wheel hop on the rear tire. my question is, can I adjust the toe and do you think that would help? keeping in mind I am totally new to drifting of any kind on a serious level and I have owned my FC3 for a month and a half.....be gentle

Yes you should adjust it because you're gonna chew through that tire when you are just driving around. No it won't help the wheel hop. You're bushings are probably original and need to be replaced with urethane upgrades. You could also just get aftermarket replacement toe links and trailing arms. Match that with urethane diff bushings, you will solve the issue.

when I first bought my FC with 186k on it, it had original shocks/springs and a 6 port NA.... when I got it home, I welded the diff and beat the shit out of the car.... insane wheel hop sideways and just doing retarded smokey burnouts.... got a good set of coilovers...and some bushings and delrin mounts, wheel hop went away.
007 is right on, the mad toe in will just add lateral grip when sideways and eat up tires street driving...unless you have some broken/bent stuff causing the toe... I've cranked like 2.2* of toe on my car... it does is make it straighten real fast when you let out of the throttle at low speed drifts and eat tires quicker. |
stock suspension = wheels hop.
my car still has stock bushings... |
my car had stock bushings and cut springs and slid like butter on a hot pan

thanks guys, I really dont have money for coilovers right now but I read up on how to adjust the toe and I think this will just have to be a learning process, thanks for the tips, I'll look into bushings and urethane!

just find somebody local who works at a tire shop and see if they can hook you up with a quick alignment on the side
