I even got a mold! I made two of em this weekend.. Give me a price you can pay and i can look into it.. its 311 dollars from RHDjapan shipped to Norway.. Donnu shipping from norway to USA, i bet 50-100usd

Edit: im selling them for 200 USD + shipping in Norway, but i got financial crisis at home :P :P so im open for "bids" on PM..

NoPistons! 04-06-09 12:34 AM

Bro you NEED to do a write up on how to make molds and glass your own aero.

That's something i've been wanting to learn how to do for YEARS. I can do speaker boxes, panels..... Stuff like that b/c it's easy to use wood with cloth stretched over it but that's just not practical with aero! I toyed with spray foam and a lot of sanding/shaping and that doesn't seem practical. Cardboard forms wouldn't transfer to well either!

On topic though.

Shipping would pwn me. I REALLY want one tho!

USS CJ 04-06-09 02:34 AM

that vent is like 10000x better than the ugly uras one.

What is it?

Sindregutt 04-06-09 03:14 AM

I can do a write-up when im gonna copy my rear bumper in april/may.. Its not hard though.. I think you`ll find alot of it on the web somewhere..

Thats URAS type 2 hood scoop. FIts the FC really well and nice when having a Vmount ;)

Like i said i dont know the shipping from Norway to US.. I buy alot from the US but i dont know if its compareable....

Sindregutt 04-06-09 04:02 PM

Here ya go! :D Made some today too

dreadseb 04-06-09 09:00 PM

What are the dimensions on these? And can you give a rough price for what one would cost for us north american with shipping? Kinda want on of these for my aristo if you price them competitively.

dkwasherexd 04-07-09 11:35 PM

yessss this is what I also really want to learn... teach us how to make copy of aero....fiberglassing lessonss....

Sindregutt 04-10-09 05:55 PM

Im trying to figure out how to ship stuff cheap to US. We aint got UPS or FEDEX offices here and the norwegian postal services sucks big time.. when eastern is over its easier to get quote`s.. I Might be able to go down on the price to you guys..

ABout fiberglass lessons.. Im not a "writer" kind a guy, but i can take some quick pics, and a few steps to show you the way.. its not hard, just gotta be patient and work the airbubbles out of the resin.

dreadseb 04-12-09 12:50 AM

Coool, a quick write up/pictures would be awesome too, hell if somebody can't figure out the procedure from a few good pictures and mediocre writing then they probably shouldn't try making their own aero in the first place haha. Maybe with some guidance I can start replicating the aero on my car since its been discontinued for years now haha.

And your vents look so much better than the uras vents imo, so it only makes sense that we pressure you into selling them. At least to a few of the cool kids haha.

DRFT_HRD 04-12-09 01:08 AM

when you get quotes let me know too i will need one of these.

Do you talk like you type?

Like a book?

Ben Stein HOLLA!

Sindregutt 04-14-09 06:03 AM

If someone wanna copy my copied ones.. be my guest! In the end, making glass fiber sucks. I mostly do it for my own cars! Making that hood scoop isnt that bad, but when you have like 3 splitted molds and aaalot of edges (aero bumpers) it takes time and effort to make it look good. `You`ll end up breaking it crashing into a silly silvia, so why bother? :P

Im not planning a writeup since D-DAY is comming! On the qoute part im gonna make some calls tomorrow..

travisorus rex 07-17-09 12:36 AM

Depending on the size and ost of shipping, I may be in for 1-2 of these.

I am also on the hunt for some "extractor" style vents for the sides of the hood if anyone knows where I could get some, hit me up.

sunburn 07-17-09 05:59 AM

Raceon has these:

dkwasherexd 07-17-09 11:18 AM

what raceon makes em? link? and how much... I hate my ghetto hood vents, and cant aford a dmax hood.. Im hoping these vents will be affordable..

Tatakai 07-17-09 01:03 PM

they're like $550-600 shipped, which isn't bad at all

afro88 07-17-09 07:27 PM

You can get a D-max for about that much.

sunburn 07-17-09 09:09 PM

Yeah these are not new news at all.... I'm surprised people are surprised. lol

dkwasherexd 07-19-09 02:22 AM

write up write up write up :) we wnat to to learn how you make your mold!!

been done did.

Risky Devil 02-27-12 09:40 PM

This was so cool when there wasn't any vented hoods available in the US, or shipping was too expensive. Most of the time, they look weird/off and 100% need to be molded in.

Too much work, spend the $500 and cop a awesome quality hood from ShineAuto.

driftfcbuckey 02-27-12 11:31 PM

mount hood vent from bottom side, and be a BAWS.

DMAX hood is where it's at. the sexy style hood is cool and all, but i'm not trying to cool off my alternator...

gear_grinder 02-28-12 08:17 AM

im trying to draw the maximum amount of air through all my heat exchangers at the front of my car, and all the air that comes through the front needs to get out of the engine bay some how. i'd rather it not all go under the car and add to the high pressure zone that's already there....

i already have an aluminum sport hood, it cant be that much heavier then a CF.

i was just going to literaly "bolt" mine on and use some two sided gap sealant tape between the hood and the vent....

Josh18_2k 02-28-12 01:33 PM

if you care about how it looks, go with a Shine hood. I have a universal Uras vent, and it fits shitty. the vent is molded for a flat hood, FC hood is spherical, so it kinda smashed the hood flat, and the corners stick up a little.

its a universal vent, of course its going to be "flat" on the mounting edge. thats why body parts that require modification say "professional installation required" you could've ether heated the vent with a high quality heat gun and formed it to match the contour of the stock hood or you could've used some "gasket material" to take up the deviations in space all around the vent.

Risky Devil 03-01-12 04:12 PM

d-max non vented rear is pretty good too!

driftfcbuckey 03-01-12 08:58 PM

If it fits like shit it's generally installed incorrectly.

+2 for dmax/shaved rear cowl

True that...I have a Chaser Aero BN knockoff, and initial fit was pretty off, the left of the back bumper was all wonked out and shit... but ive put Veilside kits, and Origin kits... both needed a good amount of heat gun work.... Easiest kit I ever did was a Buddy Club, but i think it was a fluke.

gear_grinder 03-05-12 08:45 PM

Ive never had an issue with Chaser... but i usually just drive there and pull shit off the shelfs, bullshit for half the day, pay cash and get super deals.

Chaser is like a 2 man show and a HUUUUUUGE warehouse... and sometimes a dude putting lambo doors on for some gangster dudes from baltimore, I'd imagine that they get really swamped and backed up sometimes, so the customer service gripe is believable.

gear_grinder 03-06-12 06:08 PM

They've gotten some really crappy reviews on the bad/ugly section along with no longer being a forum vendor.
