Shooter inner tie rod

So i put the mazdatrix bump steer kit and a rack spacer to get more angle out of my car. So adding all this made everything a lot longer and is screwing with my toe. I could cut the inner tie rod but i really don't feel safe doing that. Was wondering if anyone has info on a shooter inner tie rod?

Youre supposed to take off a few threads to zero it out. Angle grinder + flap disc - Leave the nut on the tie rod to save threads and grind like 3-4 threads off until u hit the nut.

Band saw is easier but not everyone has one. Same method with the nut just cut along it/use it as a straight edge.

Did you do the 2 inner spacers (one on driver side, one on pass side) or when you said "added A spacer" did you really mean you literally only added one? If you added both like youre supposed to it should only be a degree or 2 toed out total with everything bottomed out correctly.

Ok cool thanks for the info bucket...and yes I put two 7mm rack spacers on. I had to take them off cause my toe was to far out and it made the car very unsafe to drive. Ok cool i'm going to go buy some new inner tie Ross and cut them down a little bit so I can get everything to fit.

subaru justy inners are shorter and have the correct thread pitches. these are the ones i run on my car with mazdatrix threaded spacers. if you only added 7mm spacers per side you should be able to adjust that in the OEM stuff. 7mm is not a lot at all.

Oh cool...are the wrx and STI inners deferent? just wanna make sure so I know which ones to order. I'm also running mazdatrix outters. I thought I had enough room...guess the owner before me change out the inners. Remember reading some were that the after market inners are a little bit longer the the stock ones.

Whoops forgot to ask...what year wrx inners are you using sil8ty? And also thanks for the helpful information.

subaru justy. why do you ask about wrx or sti. just get justy tierods. but you should be able to adjust stock stuff for that little amount.

slowgxl 09-21-12 02:33 PM

just wanna make sure the thread pitch are the same...and i can't adjust stock anymore since the mazdatrix outter tie rod is longer it threads are hitting the inner tie rod threads. so the most i can't bring toe in is -1.50"

slowgxl 09-21-12 02:34 PM

whoops i also did not see that he put justy...my bad. thought he was talking about a wrx

driftfcbuckey 09-21-12 02:50 PM

Sti or wrx is actually longer. They also have different end link thread pitch from what ive heard. Those are different from the justy tie rods that george mentioned

ok cool thanks for the help guys

or you could just modify your ball joints out..

slowgxl 09-21-12 10:38 PM

...true but i don't have a welder and this is my daily so i can't have it down for to long.

Lol...thanks george and that's freaking awesome! Also love your race car. Please don't raise it...also buckey love your car too can't wait to see it running. Reading your guys build thread pushs me to do better and learn how to work on my own car. One day my car will be as cool as yours.

Just to be completely clear, if i extend my ball joints i won't need shorter tie rods since everything evens out?
