little clip from Will Roegge from this past weekend!

Did you have the new PBM rear end put together in this vid? How are you liking it?

J.T.P. 10-23-13 12:34 PM

I'm currently running the full Part Shop Max suspension package.. all rear links, bushings and bearings and the front lca's and drop knuckles.. everything working flawlessly and felt very good... the front end feels much like my front knuckles with possibly a bit more angle due to the lca's the front angle is adjustable with the stoppers which is nice too so depending on what wheel/tire/offset combo you can tune to your liking. the rear felt really solid and made plenty of traction with my alignment settings comparing it to the AWR setup that was previously on the car I would say it seems a bit better in the forward traction i think due to the subframe and diff risers bushings. overall I think PBM has the best suspension solution for FC on the market hands down. The front lca's and drop knuckles are still several months out from being in production and there are a few new pieces for the rear that I'm testing out that aren't available yet, but they'll be available soon..

ty, Exactly what I was looking for before I ordered my whole rear end from them. I am very curious to hear about these secret parts you are testing for them hahah.

Time to get my wallet drunk so it puts out for the parts now.

J.T.P. 10-23-13 01:34 PM

hahaha that's one way to do it!

the "secret parts" are the trailing arm front bearings, dtts eliminators and rear spindle upper bearing delete. everything they needed on my end worked out perfect with fitment etc.. so I believe they're going to production now on those last parts i just mentioned.. and they will complete the entire rear end solution.

Dude it was fun hanging out with you and the family.... Next time I'll bring my helmet.... And your buddy was killing it too, I'm glad to see his first time drifting was an awsome experience at asb

J.T.P. 10-23-13 02:27 PM

yo it was cool that you guys hung out... was thinking you were gonna come back out sunday...

archaphil 10-23-13 03:57 PM

I don't suppose they mentioned anything to you about selling a " suspension package" deal did they? A one stop shop for a complete rear end is very appealing. I just hate to order the parts individually only to find out a month later they are discounted in a package deal.

RadioX7 10-23-13 04:21 PM

Naw we had other things to do ..but we plan on driving both days next year...I keep forgetting his name but he is a real cool guy ...did he fix his car for Sunday??

no, haven't heard anything about a deal like this.. it could be worth calling and asking about the possibility of it though..

J.T.P. 10-29-13 02:50 PM

What size is the fuel cell I've been looking for one for mine found a bunch but would like to get some input that looks like an atl

J.T.P. 10-29-13 07:42 PM

really depends on if you're trying to street it or just for track.. to be honest I wish this thing had come with a stock tank that I could have sumped and surge tank'd...

Well the car has a v8 swap track purpose so... I just wanna buy a fuel cell once

Duster524 10-29-13 09:15 PM

so do the trailing arms not bind at all with the sphericals now? i imagine the whole car feels amazing with eliminating that shitty fca bushing also

archaphil 10-30-13 08:36 AM

I am soo jelly of this build. But it is inspirational!

I'd go with a 12 gal cell then.. anything less than that and you'll be filling up pretty often. also if you ever want to track it you'll want to be able to run 30 min sessions without having to worry about running out of gas mid session.

there's absolutely no binding at all on the rear end. i was running a full awr setup previously so i wasn't going from a stock setup to this.. however pbm has a full setup now that includes more than what the awr setup has and is premium quality in my opinion. and yes overall the car feels real solid with this rear end setup!

thanks man, I've tried to take all I've learned over the years with all the 7's I've built and put it towards this one...

It looks like you would have alot of ackerman (more than factory) from looking at how the steering link was relocated. is this the case? wouldnt that much tire scrub slow you down when initiating/while drifting?

J.T.P. 10-31-13 11:59 AM

looks can be deceiving. and yes too much ackerman would be a bad thing but also not enough can make self steer non existent.

Zenki FC3S 10-31-13 01:56 PM

did you have to cut into the frame rail in front of lca?? or bang it?

J.T.P. 10-31-13 02:23 PM

just bent the edge down.. with the pbm stuff you can actually still run the front sway bar which is my current setup that i ran at ASB
