old news is old

Well the diff mount still hasnt come out

That shit sucks. Rad ass way to rip the mount off the subframe. Do aluminum rears, a competition front and a pinion snubber. No worries. If you really have a mega-boner for that just have someone box in a stock mount. You will still have to reinforce the bracket on the subframe or watch it peace the fuck out.

Didnt even know about that comp front mount. Ill just get that since it will most likely be cheaper then the PBM one. Thanks!

Mazda Comp is like $140 IIRC. I don't think it's cheaper. Pinion snubber is the real workhorse in that equation regardless.

found it for $105. and ill be doing the pinion snubber too

this is how you prevent breaking mounts ever again.

tweakgames got tired of buying mounts every year, welded on this brace a few years ago and hasn't broken anything since! did this to my car last year and has also held up no problem, and im still running a stock 20 year old front mount!

New-new PBM stuff. Definitely want to get the spherical trailing arm bushing if the price is right.

Toe Eliminator Bushing, Trailing Arm Rear Upper Bushing, Trailing Arm Front Bushing spherical bearing conversion

F#ck the mazda rear. I dam near put my GTU rear thru the floor board. Welded it into place and was cool for a little. Call Ronin and get the kit to put a ford 8.8 in. Thats what I did. Good luck with that breaking. I also got all the PBM mounts, Rear, the piviting subframe bushings and the tacl's. Nice parts got to admit. If anyone wants a mazda comp diff mount kit i have one. Maybe 10 miles on it, snapped two stub shafts and went with the Ronin kit.

assad112000 05-06-13 02:49 AM

how much for that comp mount u have?

Not really tring to seperate the kit. Its a mazda comp diff mounting kit, so the rear two for the diff and then the front mount. I oredered it from corksport a year ago for around 225 shipped I think. Just went on the site and could nt find it anywhere. Mazda trix sells the kit in idividual peices, total would be about 205 without shipping, so about the same I paid. I would sell you the whole kit for 150 shipped. Litteraly has less than 10 miles on it. Let me know.

Go for it

assad112000 05-06-13 11:10 PM

i just need the front. Already getting pbm solid rears. I saw racing beat has the comp front mount for like 105 brand new

Kovah41 05-07-13 10:48 PM

Yeah mazdatrix has it too, if your going with the pbm solid rears, which are nice I must add, have them and along with anything else PBM has made for the FC, why not wait for the new solid front mount they are releasing instead of buying madd front mounts. A new wave of FC PBM parts should be released withing the month apparently

assad112000 05-07-13 11:38 PM

i heard that the solid one would be a bad idea. Some guy said that it would be am easy way to rip apart where it mounts to the subframe. Whats ur take on it?

DR_Knight 05-08-13 10:10 AM

You guys should buy the rear subframe risers. They allow the subcrame to tilt unlike other solid mounts. And raise the subframe correcting roll center. Installed them and theyre munayyyyy. Especially with my car being so low, the car feela much better with the correxted geometry

DR_Knight 05-08-13 10:13 AM

Just run a pinion snubber. Or weld the stock one

The reason for it breaking free is years of abuse and weaking of the metal. Before my 8.8, we scraped the original mount and made a new front mount bracket out of thicker metal and better supports. Also a pinion snubber would held a great deal too, keep that upward tearing motion to a minimal. Alot of these rip out in drag apps due to hard launching, we have nt seen one rip with drifting. Pesonally,I like solid mounts, and bushings. If i change one bushing to solid, I change them all. no mixing and matching. Drawback with solid bushing everywhere used to be the lack of adjustability, but now with PBMs new set up that went out the window.

Yeah i got them, that whole setup is nice. But they are only kinda worth it if you got the tacl's to go with them. otherwise the play in the stock camber links allows the uneven camber adjustment from being off center

Good to know. My app is for drifting so thats goood to hear. Ive personally broke too of those rubber mounts in like 6 months. Although they were both used previously. But my local track is a pretty big one and a very fast track too so the abuse takes its toll. Ill be picking up the whole PBM setup when it all finally comes out

Yeah Ive broke a couple of those front mouts too, shearded them right in half lol. My FC is also built for drift. Local track here is moderate speed, lots of turns and transitions tho. So a correct setup is gold for us. No matter the track drifting beats up our cars, so Ive tried to strengthn my car as much as possable. Checked out your build thread also, nice work. Im gonna prob do a build thread on the rear set up that I got so keep a eye out.

assad112000 05-11-13 03:16 PM
