Jerico 4 speed transmission
 

Just lost my second fd transmission this past weekend while drifting and now I want to move on to a gforce gf4a or a tex racing t101 / t101a. I have friends that use these transmissions on their road race cars and they love them. One huge advantage I can see off the bat is not missing a shift and durability.

My main concern is what bell housing I could use on my single turbo 13b rew engine. I seen a few road race 13/20b's out on track but i can't find any info of these set ups

I talked with a few people and 7's racing makes a full kit to do this, but you have to buy the bellhousing, adapter, starter, clutch, flywheel, and pp. I already have a pretty solid clutch set up and dont want to lose that. I contacted mazdatrix and they are actually coming out with something so I can keep all of my stuff and use a jerico. Lets see what happens....

From what I understand, you have to rebuild them at regular intervals. Might want to look into that cost and see if it makes sense.

It makes sense to me because its a track car. The abuse it takes on track is pleanty and i want to have a solid driveline. If i get a full years worth of track time with no down time its definetly worth it. Even when my tranny was in good shape and didnt like how long it took to shift into gears or the occassional misshift into another gear.

If you still clutch in this helps put less wear and tear on the trans but yes rebuilds are more regular

I remember when I first got my car it seemed like years in between shifts lol. I totally forgot about that I guess I'm just use to it now.

I have a short shifter in mine and it feels like forever compared to other drift cars I have had. I also go into the wrong gear just about every event I do. Im gonna put in my last back up fd transmission and gonna start getting ready to swap it out later this year with some kind of dogbox. Ill make a thread once I have errrthang together
