FC n/a fuel issue?
So this weekend the FC ran into a problem at the track. It had a really rough idle and was plowing black smoke out the ass end. Idle was super choppy and throttle would need to be held open in order for the car to not die. We figured it was the fuel pressure regulator just dumping fuel in so I picked up another one at PnP.
Today I put the "new" one on and now it just doesn't want to start now. Any suggestions? |

^ that and its always worth it to check your plugs. ive seen a lot of weird issues be fixed or at least get much better just by adding some fresh plugs haha
|
Just took it all apart and the mothafuckin plugs were more soaked than a hookers pants. Hoping new plugs/fpr fixes it.

So I ordered new plugs, hopefully that fixes the issue.
My oil seems to have a bunch of fuel in it also. Any suggestions on what could of happened? |
2 very possible reasons:
1. normal blowby 2. fried oil control rings judgement depends on the amount of fuel contermination and/or oil usage of the engine do a compression test... this should be preventive maintenance for our engines ;) |
So messed around with it earlier today. Took a fuel press. gauge to it and everything seemed to be normal. We shut off fuel for a second to it'd burn everything out, then turned it back on then it finally started. Its just dumping massive amounts of fuel and won't stop smoking.
My trailing plugs seem to be the ones that are getting wet, and leading seem to be ok. Heres a video of it idling. No, thats not a port job. https://vimeo.com/78601698 |
I would check the coils to the leading. Make sure there working. And did you change plugs? Seems like something small. Maybe a stuck injector or bad injector driver if its a s4. Doesn't sound like a bad motor. Sounds like ignition to me..
|
Switched out the injectors today, forgot my keys at home so we hot wired it and attempted to start it. It sounded good for about 2 seconds and cut off. Probable cause is Mazdas security system on the car needing an ACTUAL key in the fucking ignition to start.
Next step: DONT FORGET MY KEYS TO START THE CAR. |
You can take the ignition switch out and start it with a flat head takes 5mim
|
is your tach working?
check your timing, your trailing coils, your AFM, and your injectors. |
