duraflex??

has anyone ever used duraflex bodykits? i want aero but im afraid to drop a bunch of cash and fuck it all up in a night so i was wonderin how it holds up to curb bashing and wall skimming and such.

duraflex stuff is a little heavier and thicker than FRP. I had some and beat the shit out of it on my last car. It will crack but it takes much much more abuse than regular FRP, imo

driftfcbuckey 01-03-11 07:31 PM

i've never had duraflex aero, but shineautoproject has some miracle FRP/fiberglass stuff that's nearly indestructible..... my widebody fenders ripped off atleast 90 times, and one time got sent in the air like 40ft, and threw it back on as if nothing happened...
legit stuff. definitely buying more.

i also know JTP can get legit knockoff BN/GPsports aero which lasts pretty long so long as you dont run into parking blocks... (god i hate those things)

NoPistons! 01-04-11 04:44 AM

Buckey, FC's are so small that if you do hit one, it's because you're trying to be a good citizen parking all close like. I park a foot away from those things! Lol!

Never had it. It's gotta be better than the cheap shit that's blown into molds all thin and crappy-like.

driftfcbuckey 01-04-11 11:30 AM

i grenaded my front BN on one in the fashion show mall one day after just getting pulled over, and cited for everything possible... i had to "learn" about parking with aero the hard way... but yea after that i did start saying "screw it" and staying back a few feet.

thanks guys.

never had a problem with the blocks. but a lot of curb scraping with front bumper lol

as far as the weight thing. it doesnt bother me. the cars light enough.

and im gonna bash the aero up regardless just need something that wont get chewed up to bad under a little scraping and junk like that. i dont know a lot about body work and i dont wanna bug him too much lol but thanks for the info. ill be checking out shineauto for fenders and ill probably get the m sports duraflex kit. i want bn but its a little too common. not that m sports is super rare lol just dont see it as much

NoPistons! 01-07-11 02:43 AM

I support your choice to go m-sports. I'm probably stuck with my bn til it's dead and i no longer care to repair/look at it. It's in storage right now but nobody wants to trade me for gp so fuck it. I'll rock out every last drop of it's played out swagger.

driftfcbuckey 01-07-11 04:03 AM

if you werent far as fuck id give you brand new GP for the BN...

-=drift*squad=- 01-09-11 02:10 AM

does anybody make knockoff sexy style? thats something i really dont see at all and would love to get my hands on something like that!

Lol. I appreciate it just the same.

Why do drifters typically only run those block-y-wedge-y kits?

PS: I like drifting, will try it once my car is done. I like the "drift style" kits, but what is it about them?

darkprince134 01-12-11 09:20 PM

im not going to read what other people said, neddless to say, theyre fenders are absolute shit,a FUCKLOAD of heating gun,and in the end,i said screw it,id rather use the stock fenders and roll them, and im not a fan of rolled fenders at all

-=drift*squad=- 01-17-11 04:37 PM

He must be talking about duraflex, because A, he said he wasn't going to read the replies, so he must be referring to the thread title/OP, and B, Shine is known for being better than what you would think would be their competition (but really they seem to compete more with the real deal).

i looked on shines website and didnt see fenders for the FC is it a special order type of thing?

Project D1 01-19-11 05:03 PM

^^ From what I've read on buyer feedback here. . .Ken at Shine is the shit. . .

I'll be going through him for some body panels for my FD. . .
