Coilovers: What to buy?!
I'm wanting some info on coilovers that people have REALLY used and REALLY tested to find what i can get as the best bang for the buck coils.
I'm not exactly going for what can go the lowest, but just what has worked for other people and drifting. |
http://www.gtfactory.jp/cms/page.php?9 PBM coils will probably be the best bang for your buck i've been running them for about 6 months now.
|
godspeed for the ultimate win....
PM me for pricing. |
PBM is your best bang decision
|
Megan coilovers are cheap and i think they're alright. i've been running then for a little over a year and i'm pretty happy with them.
|
I'm getting my new max coilovers in the next few days they are designed by gt factory A drift company in japan I'll tell you how they go they are very well priced and have good reviews so hopefully they will go well
|
You get what you pay for.
Spend less. Get less. |
for the topic of drifting, powered by max takes the cake
|
Any of you running the pbm coilovers on an fd? can they go real low?
|
pbm is making new coilovers for the FD so...they wont be available for a couple months(doesnt really answer your question..but in case u were about to try and get them)
|
I have about a grand right now and I'm looking for coilovers I see megans are right around there. Any other ideas?? Any more reviews on them? If anyone has coilovers for sale pm me.
|
Why are ksport/megan coils even an option for you guys?
PBMS are fucking $1000 pre shipping. Stance coils aren't that much either. Stop fucking supporting communists. |
I should add that i dont REALLY give a shit what you buy but i do feel the innovators out there that do it for US and the sport (vs for profit) deserve your money.
You wouldn't want someone who works for less money doing half the work you do taking your job and putting you out on the street, would you? |

You wouldn't want someone who works for less money doing half the work you do taking your job and putting you out on the street, would you? Spot on, sir. PS. I had Stance on my S13, they were good, I liked them. Now I've Tein Super Drifts... these are better, and I like them more... |
STANCE
goes low. cheaper than most, and you're getting same shit. new Stance X60mm with Swift - 60mm shock diameter = DG-5 http://www.stance-usa.com/images/x6.jpg FC3S 8k/6k rates, S13 shown above. |

I use Tein Super Drifts on my FC and Tein Flexes on my FD. I like Tein's build quality, customer service, and longevity. Those things are more important to me than original purchase price. In the past I have used Godspeed, Megan, and K-Sport. The Teins are more expensive, but I get more out of them.

They are built from the same company, same quality, same coilover.
You can even tell from the photo's, different lower mount/pillowball. http://image.turbomagazine.com/f/120..._coilovers.jpg http://www.stance-usa.com/images/x6.jpg

GC/Koni combo. Great for drift/track combo. 500/400(390ish) for drift, and 400(390)/300(280ish) for track/autocross.
|
i dont see those new stances anywhere on their website? Whats goin on?
Are they made in collaboration with DG-5 (like GP Sports/DG-5) or do they just have swift springs like DG-5s? |
Man, i dont even care. Look at how beefy those motherfuckers are! Fuck!
edit: taking offers on some 1 way adjustable old as fuck but not blown beat ass jic sp coils. Pm me. I need stance in my life. Mother of god! I note they use linear springs over progressive. How come we've yet to talk about this shit in our applications? What are the advantages/disadvantages to running them over going with progressive rates? |
i always felt progessive springs belong on drag cars. For the rear, it would allow the rear to squat down and transfer all the weight over the rear axels before progessively getting stiff to prevent the rear suspension from bottoming out. For drifting, it seems it would allow all the weight transfer laterally before becoming stiff. Just doesnt seem like a goos setup for drifting IMO. But im not a mechanical engineer, so what do i know?
And while we are pluggin shiz for sale... I have a set of Mazdaspeed struts and eibach springs in good condition sitting in my garage. $300. I will never use them. |
