hey ballinnmiami let me kno the next event i never went to a competition nor have i drifted b4

reddevil4896 06-04-08 08:05 AM

ya same here i would appreciate that...as far as the the track events at VIR and SP..YOU are WRONG about it being ok to drift there. Yes the skidpad is open and I do seem some people attempting but there is usually a long line and people get pissed off when someone goes out there to just try and drift and keep spinning out. Sorry buddy stay in texas and stop trying to pretend your out there all the time

if you are in VA you need to be a member of Lookoudrift.com or sumospeed.com to get the lastest events around your area. Hope to see you on there.

I was trying to give him ways to practice. Starting off with controlled donuts and such. But if you do get a big enough parking lot then yes you will have enough room to actually drift. You just need to set up some cones in a challenging pattern.

I'd prefer not to. Im from Baltimore. Been here only 2 years. I haven't been out to Summit at all, I just know they have events all the time. If you want straight up parking lot then you might have to drive all the way up to Englishtown, NJ.

reddevil4896 06-04-08 09:27 AM

where did you guys go to try it for the first time?

At a parking lot event :) ha.

I still think you could go out and try summit. Just be super easy on the car and stay is a low gear. Work your confidence up from there.

reddevil4896 06-04-08 09:40 AM

Trust me I wish I could go out there and try at Summit, its a no go up there..I saw the Forumla D Drift event there last year on the Sheanadoh (however you spell it) circuit and that was chaos

ballinnmiami240sx 06-04-08 03:00 PM

start at parking lot events. The only thing you will probably hit would be a cone. again try lookoutdrift.com or sumospeed.com

I got cowned a few months ago. Stupid cone was on its side and dented my rocker panel pretty badly. Fixing it with a side skirt - ha.

Meh, it happens. and its fixable.

Sorta like the first time I took my brand new WRX (in 2002) to a rally-cross. I got there and upon inspecting my car I noticed a door ding and whined to my friend. But, by the end of the day I was whining that I couldn't get more air off one of the jumps on the course. Driving your car hard makes you care less about aesthetic perfection.

very true

So, you want a school. goto this website www.hyperfest.com Next Sat, they have a classroom/seat time school going on. You asked, you received. 150 bucks. Taught by pros, on the SHENANDOAH circuit and for beginners and experienced alike.

There you have it. If you dont want to go, by your posts you added about Summit Point and blah blah blah, get google earth and look for parking lots away from residential areas.

turboefini88 06-15-08 10:52 PM

Ohh, try www.wheretodrift.com too.

reddevil4896 06-17-08 08:39 AM

vosko 06-18-08 02:02 PM

if you want to drift at summit point go here

www.driftnirvana.com

reddevil4896 06-18-08 02:18 PM

more less being taught in a controlled environment then just entering a competition

ballinnmiami240sx 06-18-08 04:40 PM

Goto Hyper-fest this weekend at summit point. They are having a drift 101 course from pro drivers there. www.hyper-fest.com

reddevil4896 06-19-08 08:16 AM
