SE's are superb to start out on man! if you search around some you should be able to find some old threads on here.
Have a good time man!

I started sliding my GSL with stock suspension and a dual weber carb setup. Was so much easier to predict than my fc was.
I swapped in a t2 motor and still with the stock suspension had a blast!

That motor went out on me literally the same week I got my re-speed coil over kit. I found an s5 n/a motor and haven't really had a chance to slide it like that. Tonight was supposed to be our local monthly sliding thing but it got rained out :(

My buddy WOULD have had his still if he had just came here instead of selling the damn thing for $200. After he flooded it he turned it into a skateboard obstacle, spraypainted dicks all over it and used it as a hot box to smoke marijuna in.

Dont worry, i'm not friends/buddy with him anymore... He drives a purple late model non ser sentra with a rice cannon, shitty ebay headers and slushbox trans. Chrome tails.... epitome of rice.

I wish he would have let me slide it. Open diff but just once, i'd like to try an fb. I really dont have the money to build one (my fc has taken two years and still isn't done) and they're not my style at all but they're light, shorter wheel base (iirc). I dunno man. I'd just throw a welded diff in, some stiff suspension and go to town. Make the shit super light, keep it n/a and drive it balls to the walls.

Has anybody installed the groundcontrol coilover setup for the FB? ReSpeed seems to be the more popular choice.

Im in the process of building one, havent got to take it to any events yet though.

'85 GS welded diff, Racing beat rear spring and tockico blues out back. Re-speed front coilover kit is on the way. 45DCOE carb and full Racing Beat exhaust, it runs like hell!:icon_tup:

old thread, I am also in the process of building one. I ported my carb (the venturies and jets) should be similar to a 465 holly now. I am running no exhaust, loud as fuck. 350lbs front and 250lbs rear springs with KYB shocks. Everything has been stripped. wheels are next but as it sits, it slides better than anything else I have tried (sr20 s13, e36 m3 and a 10th ann t2 fc) To me it slides better because I have more experience with it, but it's so predictable. I left the rear sway bar on so snap steer used to happen in the beginning but now that I know what it will do, it's not a problem. The solid rear apparently makes a huge difference. This is with a 85 GSL.

I miss mine, sold it to buy a FC.

It can be done though.

I had GC coilover sleeves on the front, cut springs on the rear with tokico HPs all around.

No rear sway and a welded diff. 60+ psi rear tires and 35-40 front.

I liked it just fine.
