how to restore upholstery

Hello all,
A few months ago I bought a 74 mazda rx3 wagon that had been sitting in a field for 35+ years and the car had started to develop "moss" desposites growing on the car inside and out. My plan is to pull all the interior and carpet then clean/treat the floor pan.
The problem is when I go to touch the seat it is really dry rotted and almost falls apart when trying to be worked with so im afraid the carpet will be the same way.
So long story short is there anything I can do to "moisten" the fabric up basically rejuvenate the material so it doesnt fall apart when being worked with?

Any and all input is appreciated
Thanks
Jessie

Nothing will save it now. Time to replace it.

Agreed. It's probably too brittle to restore.

I have noticed that since the mods got rid of the "Free posts" in the New Member section that many threads are getting dragged out from the depths.

It's entertaining to say the least.
