Phil, I apologize for even bringing the topic up. If I thought it would start such a shitstorm, I wouldn't have said anything. I understand that there are a whole lot more important things than the raffle. Just keep up the good ideas and if I can help, yell.

Herblenny 04-26-07 07:19 PM

Mike, Its not you..

I'm going to make a general statement so some of you don't take it personally..

Think of it this way... How many events you goto where you have so much input toward??? Or event organizers answering your questions and such... I say not that many! I understand that we all want to do certain things our own ways.. But sometimes its better trusting the ones who's organizing it and let them do it the way they want to do it! Obviously I and those who help made it for past 3 years! First 2 years, I didn't have any complains! This year, WOW! I feel like so many of you have opinions and complains

And trust me.. I'm trying to be reasonable and I am listening and reading your comments.. But please some trust in me and others will help!!

RoughRex 04-26-07 08:49 PM

Hmmm... would it be easier on you if we had some sort of more ambiguous suggestion system?

Maybe you could get an e-mailbox set up at www.dealsgaprotaryrally.net for suggestions and just have it autoreply with a simple message like "Thank you for your interest in DGRR! Your suggestion will be considered!"

This way you don't feel obligated to reply to anyone and other people won't jump in and offer thier take on it as well. You can simply review the comment and be done with it.

dregg100 04-26-07 09:28 PM

^that id an excellent idea!^^

SPOautos 04-26-07 09:45 PM

You guys try not to take it personal. Phil just gets soooo many people emailing, calling, pming, iming, ect. Everyone has suggestions, opinions, complains, ideas for him to think about, ect. He gets very stressed and overwhelmed. That is why Im trying to take a lot of that load for the 2008 year. Which is why I started this thread instead of him. I dont want to see him have a nervous break down over it.

Phil, dont pay attention to this thread man....if I need anything I will call you or something. Just kick back and let me handle this part of it. You need to seperate yourself from this part of it for at least a few months to get a good break and breath. There are pleanty of other things that need to be done that you can be working on.

Later man!
Stephen

SPOautos 04-26-07 09:47 PM

You guys keep throwing out ideas. I will consider all of them....we might or might not use them just depending on how all the pieces of the puzzle fit together. If we dont use or implement your idea dont feel bad. But I would still like to hear them, if we only use 1 idea out of the 100 that 1 we do use might make a huge impact.

Thanks!
Stephen

Bah! No worries man! You guys are kicking serious butt here. Just trying to help streamline the suggestions process for you both since I know there's a lot of "what about this?" and then "that's a dumb idea" etc etc...

If I can help carry some of the load I will in a second. I'm not cut out to be a leader though, I'm just a pawn baby! Some of you may judge me on that comment but, everyone's got a place and at least I know where mine is! LOL

Herblenny 04-26-07 11:20 PM

How about this Jason.. Can you take the job of compiling all the complaints and make an excel sheet with who wants what and come up with solution to each and let us know in about two months??

This way everyone with issues, ideas, and etc could just PM you and we don't have to deal with it for about 2 months.. that would help.

NeatoCheetoFB 04-27-07 05:51 PM

Is it going to be in April again? My spring break is really early next year, March 21st-31st...Why don't you have it in the summer? More people should be able to go then.

Turbo II 04-27-07 06:38 PM

Too hot for the cars maybe and more crowded in the summer i would think.

what's spring break?? i'm willing to bet 90%+ of those who attend work full-time and are not students/teachers/others who get spring breaks, but have to use up vacation/sick leave to go... besides if you do want to go that route... Auburn's Spring break is Mar 17-22 could we move it up so some of my school friends can make it? i know it's just a suggestion and i'm not getting upset, just pointing out an opposition....

btw phil this year was fun! i know i can learn alot from sitting around shooting the breeze with some of the 7 owners. i'm lookin' forward to havin' more time to sit around *indoors* and learn about the engines and turbos and all that fun stuff!

NeatoCheetoFB 04-28-07 10:55 PM

I really want to go but it's a 12 hour drive so I can't just drive down for the weekend, I'd miss too much school...Maybe I'll get to go someday :(

rx8guy 04-29-07 01:54 PM

I didn't go this year, but I really think that I'll be attending the 08 dgrr. It seems likes its going to be a lot of fun.

blwnrtr93 04-29-07 02:38 PM

I'll be there 2008. It was a great way to see alot of different ideas implemented to solve mundane detail problems. Pre-registration is a great idea... just let me know when.

Turbo II 04-29-07 07:23 PM

I tried to get her to commit to DGRR 2008....

The Rolex Series was at Virginia International Raceway this weekend. They ran the Daytona Prototypes today as the headliner (was on Speed) GT cars ran yesterday, the RX-8 came in 2nd. Anyways... so I was wandering around the paddock area and got to hang out with some Playboy Playmates for a while... Playboy has a DP car. Anyway had my Deals Gap Rotary Rally tshirt on which caught the attention of one of them since it has Japanese writing on it. We started talking and she invited me to sit with her while she was signing pics. Wanted to know about the RX-7 meet at Deals Gap and I kept joking they should come next year. Hey, it was worth a shot! At least I got a signed pic.

mrthundercleese 04-29-07 08:57 PM

Ooo Greg you should have drove that home. Almost made your earlier suggestion come true :). We need to email them or something. Where is the next race .

praxis1301 04-30-07 06:25 PM

I fully agree with Stephen!

I like what I've read for so far. We roll with the flow in Columbus. Set the date, we will be there.

Thanks for all the work you guys are doing.

zonblitz 05-02-07 07:34 AM

I love the new ideas for 08, I am definately going to attend!

I love the idea of a central location and possibility of an indoor area for vendors/show and tell and have no issue whatsoever with early registration.

SPOautos 05-02-07 10:01 AM

If any of you guys are certain that you really want to go and are going to try to do what it takes to work it into your schudule go put your name on the list in this other thread.....

http://www.rx7forum.com/showthread.php?t=646244&page=4

Being on this list wont committ you, its mostly just so we can have a rough idea of head count early, it helps us in our negotiations with vendors. Make sure you are fairly certain you will be able to attend and keep in mind, running rx7 or not, it doesnt really matter. If you are a rotorhead you will have a good time and be welcomed no matter what car you come in so dont let your car be the determining factor if you come or not. I have been every year and only a car once hahaha.

Thanks guys!
Stephen
