LOL..no worries Phil, those whose opinions matter to me respect cars in general, no matter what the engine. The darkside isn't for everyone. Thankfully there are a lot more rotorheads that respect the love of cars and driving vs JUST the rotary engine.

Thanks for the tank of gas Eddie (prize was split 3 ways), it's something you didn't have to do but was very much appreciated.

Herblenny 05-04-11 07:17 PM

Thanks again Eddie!!

And thanks for driving all the way from Nova Scotia!!! So, next year again?? :)

Eddie is a good guy. One of the nicest I've met in my life. Actually, he's one of those guys that makes you want to be a better person.

I understand there was a little drinking going on at the Banquet and the V8 joke is funny once or twice but the Yahoos who kept yelling out their little comments every few minutes was a bit absurd...in particular since I didn't see the one individual making the majority of the comments step up and donate.

evot23 05-04-11 08:24 PM

Thanks for the warm fuzzy Gringo lol...I have to be nice to make up for my son "helping" with your car.

I wasn't there for the majority of the banquet, but I heard enough while I was there haha.

+1 :icon_tup:

Very well said.. I was telling my wife about Eddie and how genuinely nice he was... and I only got to meet him for few hours. Next time Eddie, we'll hang out.

That is INSANE!!

All I can say is hope it was worth it ;)

I really should have kept track of the fuel I used in my Rx-4. I know all total I put on 3000 miles for the trip and I know I didn't get that good of mileage. I roughly figured it out to somewhere just above 20mpg. I really need a 5 speed in that car......

Congrats thought to my fellow Canadians for winning, and thanks Eddie for sponsoring the prize.

Redshft 05-07-11 09:08 AM

To echo my fellow Nova Scotians, thanks much for putting up the prize, and for the hospitality from everyone. Regarding the V8 yhing, while I'm personally a rotary fan, I'm a car/motorcycle fan first, and I can appreciate any vehicle for it's own merits.

I didn't keep as detailed records as Steve, but I put on a few more miles than him as I did an extra run to Ashville and back on Saturday (Jenn wanted to hit a store) and another run out to the Dragon and back.
My total fuel costs for the trip were $745.89 CDN.
Dragon runs were low MPG, but the long highway runs were knocking on 24MPG with 2 people + luggage in the car and the AC on (we are Canadian after all.) I guess the MM tuned AccessPort works.

Next year is up for debate right now, who am I kidding, hope she lets me go next year. My banged up knee is going to need the year to recover after that drive there and back, no regrets though.

One of these years, I'll have to make the trip out from Idaho. FTW
