PLEASE READ, PRINT, SIGN, and BRING it with YOU!

Alright Guys..
I need everyone to sign a waiver and bring it with you! If you don't sign, you will not be able to attend! Also, If you are under 18, YOUR Parents MUST attend!! Anyone who looks under 18, we will ask you to provide us with your Driver's License. If you DON'T, you will be asked to leave the area. Please Read below, print the word file or print this screen, sign it, and bring it with you. If you forget, I have few already printed at the event.. But print and bring it with you as it will save us time. Thank you! PHIL https://www.rx7club.com/attachment.p...d=232982&stc=1 |
it will be hard to watch and see who does and doesnt have the sheet. an easier way would be to not give anyone a shirt or name tag without the paper. that way if someone doesnt have a name tag or shirt you can pick them out easier to ask them about the sheet. you would also need to keep the sheets in some form of an order so you can quickly browse through them to verify you have that persons or not.
an easy solution to that would be folders. one with each letter of the alphabet. each time someone gives you a paper put in the by the first letter of their kast name. that way if someone says they already gave it to you then you can quickly look to see if you do or not. just an idea. |
I'm going to either stamp people's hands or by name tags.
|
ok good deal
|
Damn! Didn't need this last year!!
|
And that kind of blows for people who aren't of age but live near the area. I guess they can just say they aren't affiliated with us.
|
I've recieved several PMs regarding drivers under 18..
Under 18, I consider them to be minors.. In that situation, I need the driver to PM me with their number so I could personally talk to their parents for their consent and their info. Then they need to bring written consent with emergency contact info. You might ask why? I think its common sense why I need this.. Those of you who refuse to sign a waiver MUST understand that you will not be part of the DGRR and you will not take part in any of OUR drives, Lunches, Banquet, etc.. Unfortunately, in today's world, I have to state this CLEARLY so there will be no future problems. Hope all of you can understand my position.. |
what if you dont have a printer
|
I'll have enough..
|
Good move. Very sensible.
|
Well, 1st year, last year, we had waivers.. This year, I'm going to be more strict with 5-6 volunteers making people sign it before they come into the Rotary Parking area.
|
EDIT: Thanks phil. Some of us who are already here will definitely need a copy.
|
Should have had this posted before we left town. What about the people who are under 18 that are coming???

Unfortunately, unless you would like to take responsibility of them, that would be the only choice.. So, you want to be responsible for the minors? |
^^^A little late at this point to be posting such information, don't you think? :( I understand where you're coming from, especially with the legal issues regarding law suits and injury responsibility... but this info should have been posted when the event planning was first on a roll. I'll sign it, but it seems unfair this late in the game to be required to sign something to participate. People have already taken off work, paid you, etc. Something like this should have been handled a while ago. We didn't have to do this last year... why the last minute decision?
|
Better late than have issues later on.. Don't you think? And its my ass on the line. Also, most of this is pretty common sense.
As I stated, I have enough printed just in case. Hence I don't think its too late as forms will be provided at the event. |
but to tell them they cannot participate is pretty messed up. you should have had this clearly stated at the beginning before they gave you their money or made plans.
EDIT: like I said, I understand what it's for... even though it doesn't seem necessary since it's a public road and a public park we are having the whole event on. |
Geez Christina.. You were 'kind' of part of this and you've never mentioned it.. Why is this such a big issue for you?? Minor coming to an out of state event might create issue. For instance, they get hurt, there is nothing I can do.. I can't be responsible for this..
You know, this is where I have problem about organizing an event.. People can't understand that I spend GREAT deal of time and at the end, they complain about something.. Yes, I didn't mention it until now, but still its 2 days away.. |
Again, I think only issues I see is for the minors.. If you know of a minor who will be attending this event, please contact them and let them know.

nobody should have to sign a waiver to drive on a public road. I am aware of a few people who HAVE paid you, who are outraged because they won't be allowed to have their t-shirt or participate if they have not signed a waiver. |
I'm trying to find out if Verbal Consent will be enough or not... If thats the case, minors could ask their parents to call me and give me all the emergency contact info and such.

just seems unjust of you to do this last minute. the waiver isn't an issue if you had stated that in advance and made it clear to all who are interested in going. minors shouldn't have to sign anything either. they have licenses. they are responsible for themselves like anyone else at NOPI, VIR, or even a public road.
