Caravan from ATL, GA to DGRR 2011 (Natahala Village)

People from AL, MS, LA, FL, and GA will meet up and go up as a HUGE caravan.. I'm guessing 50+???

Date: Thursday April 28th, 2011.

Time: 11AM to 2:30PM - Depart at 2:30 and I'll get some maps made just in case some people fall behind. We'll have 1 or 2 stops along the way so people could catch up and get gas or something..

Meeting place:
Sydney's Buffet - 2131 Pleasant Hill Road, Duluth, GA
Some people will eat here from 11 to 2PM :)

parking lot should hold 100+ cars around the shopping area..

Had to take my name off the list for the caravan. I have to wait for a friend to get here from Michigan. Oh and I will most likely have to work Thursday.

please tell me there will be more than 8 cars at the Atlanta caravan....

I know of at least 3 more cars, but not meeting for lunch. We are going to meet where we met last year, which is further north, off of I-985, at the WalMart shopping center. It is much easier to get out and access the interstate from there.

that's only 11 cars Holly..lol...come on people...there has got to be more than that.

I think there are few more on RCC that's joining us. Should be 15-20 cars.

Also, there is a Korean place next door that I've heard its good...

damn that was a fun caravan last year but it was not condusive for a truck towing an FD. in fact we somehow got in front of some cars when we went into the mountain roads and held them up for a good 20 min until we could pull off the side of the road.

It was safer to take 95 up to SC and then come across from Asheville.

Honestly that route makes more sense for us Eddie....we should consider meeting S. Fla in Jax and getting the Jax guys and just going up 10...if they are going up Thursday.

When S. FL decides their route, we should plan our opportunities.

One more week! Looks like we should have 2 from Gville and one from Jax to ATL

Don't forget to add me to the list. Won't have my car this year, will prob go up in the beemer.

A few of us are going to meet the caravan further up I-85, at the first exit just after splitting to I-985. If you guys leave by 2:30, we are going to be waiting at 2:30PM at the Wal-Mart parking area just next to I-985 (same place as last year's ATL caravan). There's convenient access to the interstate, also Asian buffet (Ichiban Buffet Sushi Grill) and Pizza (Stevie B's) in the Wal-Mart parking lot, plus Chevron gas station.
