Discount at Fontana Village...
Alright guys.. after about an hour on the phone, I have locked down a price at Fontana Village...
All the rooms and cabins are 25% OFF from their Peak season rate. http://www.fontanavillage.com/accomm...mmodations.htm You must call them and let them know you are part of the, "Deals Gap Rotary Rally" or "Mazda Rotaries @ Deals Gap". Fontana Village is going thru some major renovations and the increase in price is direct results of it... Tenatively, Saturday night banquet dinner will be more than last year.. $15 per person. If you reserve a room or cabin, please post here. Also, rooms and cabins will be only held for couple of months. There are 2 other small groups that will be staying at Fontana Village. Luckily both groups are non-car oriented groups. But you never know what other groups might reserve the last.. So, please book your rooms asap!!! Thank you! PHILIP SOHN Organizer of DGRR PS. I received an email from the manager of Fontana Village after founding out some people were having problems reserving a room..
This is what the manager wrote me: Philip, my apologies! The group block is in the system and there is still availability. It must have been an individual's error and I DO apologize. During the winter months we are down to a skeleton crew and using staff in many capacities. The only other possible explanation is that perhaps your member did not identify the group they were with in a manner that is not listed in the system? ...Mazda Rotaries @ Deals Gap. I have contacted the front desk and requested them to be sure all staff is briefed. All rooms and cabins are first come first... Please book them asap and don't wait until the end. |

Do most people stay at Fontana's? When I went to Rotary Rev in 2005 we had a ton of people in our suite hanging out. Is it like that there? I called today and if most people are staying there, we are getting a 3 bedroom cabin. Price's are good, I just need to know if this will be the center of things. Phil, if you want to to organize the caravan from the NE, I can do that. Just let me know. |

Fontana Village will be where I would like everyone to stay at.. Make sure when you book the cabin, tell them you are part of "Mazda Rotary @ Deals Gap". And if you could start a thread about DGRR in NE section, that would be great!! |

I told them I was part of the Mazda rotary group and the discount is 25% off on the cabin I'm looking at. I say that's awesome. Better than what I get with my military and AAA combined. haha. Nice work on getting that hook up Phil. |
I reserved mine just now. I am staying in the Laurel unit checking in on Friday and checking out on Sunday. It's like $90 a night after the discount and that is for a 2 bedroom cabin fully furnished. Now I just have to make sure I get on this paint job so I can drive the FD up.

i tried to email fontana village and i havent received a response yet. last year i had a 3 bedroom cabin. it was horrible. the water heater was a joke. i want to make sure a few problems have been taken care of before staying in a cabin/laurel/etc again. does anyone have any experience with the sweetheart room?

I think until march.. then its first come first. aws140.. What I hear is that they have completely renovated all the cabins and such. If you don't like it when you get there, please go tell them asap and ask them to move you to a different location. If its not up to your satisfaction, let me know and I will complain and get something done for you. I know last year couple of people weren't happy and I demanded that they recieve a discount. I believe Fontana gave them additional 20%. But this was after they moved to a new cabin. Don't hesitate to complain if its not to your standard! This is another reason why more people stay at Fontana, better pull I'll have. No one wants to loose 20 rooms for 2 days. If you stay somewhere else, no way I could help. |

Just reserved the Lodge Room for April 18-22. :) SO excited now. omg...
PS- For those of you who may not have a place to stay yet, you are more than welcome to stay in our room and split the cost. We have one other bed, and plenty of floor space if you want to bring a sleeping bag or cot. We can cram in there if need be. I do ask that people stay in our room who I know... I can't stay in a room with a stranger. Rotorhead or not. ;) |
just reserved a one bedroom cabin. i think some other car group pulled out that weekend. yesterday they didnt have any cabins available. they have ONE two bedroom left and a few one bedrooms left. so you better hurry!!

Reservations have been REALLY picking up, so it should be a great event!!!! Generally speaking, the cabins are just about gone completely! Damn it, I've been off line and busy. Just got a 2 bedroom cabin, last one I think. She said they have 5 one bedrooms still and some motel rooms off site (I think?). I think she said the have a few of some other type of lodging, but it was hard to make out what she was saying. It didn't sound like more then 10 openings though. I'm in though. See you guys there.

LOL... everytime it looks like the cabins are gone someone jumps on here and says they've snagged one. I guess there must be some cancellations going on.

If you are considering attending this year’s Deals Gap Rotary Rally, it is not too late. If you are and especially if you know you are coming, make sure you don’t put things off too long.
According to Fontana, as of yesterday, they had only 4 lodge rooms left, but they have 54 various cabins and two houseboats left. They may have additional lodge rooms available after April 1st, as there is another group that has reserved a block of rooms for the same weekend, and their cutoff date is the 1st. Also, if you have not yet purchased an event T-shirt, they have all been printed, and although extras were printed, they will go on a first come, first go basis, so if you wait until you show up at the rally, you may end up with something 2 sizes too small or too large. Almost 200 shirts have been sold already, if this is any indication of the expected turnout, this is going to be a great rally. Finally, be sure to put your name(s) on the list for the banquet on Saturday night. There are currently only 61 names on the list, so I think there are several people who either forgot or do not know that they need to sign up. If you don’t you won’t be turned away…we just need a close count so we make sure there is enough food to go around.
