Exclamation Rename the FAQ or New Sticky!

Calling all Mods. I think the reason nobody reads the FAQ before posting is because it doesn't say to.

On some other forums I'm on, there is typically a sticky labeled:
"**READ BEFORE POSTING**"
or something like that. All caps, maybe some color.. something that jumps out. I think it would cut down a lot of the repeating questions like "My idle jumps up and down sometimes.. " or "Looking to buy an RX-7.. What do you think?".

Perhaps you could just create a new thread with that title, sticky it, and explain what people need to do BEFORE posting. Like reading the FAQ, Searching, etc. Maybe put some tips on searching effectively in there.

Just an idea? Anybody else think this is a good idea?

Yeah. but it isn't displayed to new users. Unless you want to have the responsibility of PMing every new user.

They should set up a script.

I am quite handy with PHP and Perl.

But seriously.. I think highlighting a new sticky is the best way of dealing with the issue.

this is a good point. People who don't know much message board etiquette probably still don't notice the FAQ.

You mean the suggestions section that nobody reads? LOL.. Thats kind of the whole point of this thread. Hehe. We'd need a sticky to tell people to check the suggestions section.
