Question About Mod Editing Rights
Long, serious post.
To begin with, I've been a Mod on multiple forums over the years including some that had a higher membership than RX7 Club. One was a MMA forum and the other a Counter Strike forum. I was that loved/hated Mod (Kind of like rx7roller02) b/c I was willing to listen to both sides of an issue and then lower the ban hammer...even if it was a friend. I banned my girlfriend once for a week (and didn't get laid for two weeks bc of it) :lol:for a rule violation. I also understand this isn't a Democracy. Being a mod is a difficult and often unappreciated job. It takes a rare person to resist the urge to back friends or businesses one is friendly to as such actions have to be very careful to avoid the appearance of favoritism. I'm genuinely concerned with two posts going missing from the thread located here: https://www.rx7club.com/3rd-gen-general-discussion-322/fd-rare-parts-rare-defined-816673/page21/ in the middle of a very unprofessional call out by one vendor to another. I'd personally like to request that the two posts removed by examined by Staff to determine if they should have been removed. I personally believe the posts were removed by a Mod friendly to the original vendor who called out the other and is trying to make him not look bad. If it is indeed the Mod I suspect, I believe this situation needs a review as within the last 60 days he created a semi-threatening email in the SE Section regarding a part he purchased from a member there which was also rapidly deleted by him. Are mods allowed to created and delete threads for their own benefit in this matter? If the staff needs to handle this privately with no public resolution, I certainly understand the need for a united front. However I do believe it is fair that if I'm correct and both of these occurrences the work of one mod, it does reflect poorly on the integrity of the entire staff and moderating crew of the forums.
