product reviews subforums?

i may get a "search" bashing for this suggestion but i was thinking that under each generation it would be pretty cool to have a product reviews section.
say you are thinking about buying a part but you haven't heard of the manufacturer or just simply aren't very familiar with that manufacturers products. instead of having someone go onto the general generation subforum and make a post asking if anyone has that exact product etc etc, they could just search for that product under the product reviews subforum. obviously it would be biased based on each persons experience but the more input you get before you invest the better. i think it would be a good idea for the benefit of all rx7's on the road, to extend the lifespan of these cars by putting the better parts on the cars. i am a very picky buyer and i like to do my research before i buy anything but most of the time it is very hard to find.
there are many more reasons i think this is a good idea but i'm sure anyone reading gets the idea.

We've tried something like this before, and it tends to get pretty random.

Tell ya what... if you go collect me a list of existing threads that are product reviews, I'll create the new forum on a trial basis and move the threads in there - then we'll see where it goes from there. Fair enough?

i sense sarcasm or trickery to an extent for some reason. kind of sounds like an impossible challenge for me to undertake just to sqaush this. i mean that is assuming you want all threads regarding product reviews that are on this forum?...
if not i would be willing to go a few dozen pages back in the general fb,fc,fd subforums in search of reviews.
im aware though that im most likely to find botched threads with someone asking if anyone else has a certain part and then the thread turns into a bunch of people telling the op what other brand he should buy. so in reality it isn't really a review.
a product review subforum should have structure just like the classifieds section, and me linking you a bunch of the previous said type of threads and then trying to implement the structure would make it fairly confusing to all those who do not read the stickies.

i would be willing to do a little bit of work to make this work, just trying to make sure the prize isn't put out of reach :)

There is no sarcasm at all in the above. I like the idea, but could use some help implementing it. If you're up for the task, I'll work with you on it. Shoot me a PM if you'd like to do this.
