Electronics section?
 

Why do we get an electronics section without asking, but we have to plead for a fab forum?

Because when you ask for something, the admins like to put you through hell so you know they're really bending over backwards doing you some huge ass favor by wasting 3-4 clicks and upwards of TEN whole keystrokes.

Earlier this morning, there was an electronics section near the DoO, Politics, and Polls sections above.

Five minutes ago there was a Database Error...

Now it's gone.

Did anyone else notice?

I saw it, but then a weather baloon obscured the view while swamp gas crept it and then it was gone. Sorta like BAW.

You are wrong. The electronics section was removed almost 24 hrs ago. You need to refresh your pages more often.

The DB error was unrelated. FWIW it wasn't technically a DB error either as all three of the sites were down at the same time.

Damn, some strong words.

I kind of hope we don't get that Electronics section back, I like everything to be more piled in the Lounge, I'm more inclined to click on it. As it is, I don't often go into the Politics section whereas before it existed I always clicked on the "Obama is a homo" and "Is McCain still alive?" type threads.

the idea of all the Sub forums is rediculous anyway....the lounge is slowing down (maybe due to summer)

It's like the guy that has a very successful small tavern....the atmosphere is great and the place is always packed and all are having a good time.

The Tavern owner moves to a larger location to take advantage of his success.

Guess what, the move turns out to be a flop. The same number of people show up to the new tavern yet the atmosphere is somehow different.....it jsut doesn't seem to be "hopping" or "happening" anymore at the new place....the Tavern closes it's doors 6 months later.....there is a Thrift shop in the old location...

That is happening here. Too many fractured areas and all are seeming slow.

Yeah.. let's just merge the whole forum into one great big clusterfuck section... sounds like a plan to me! Who needs tech sections or classifieds or regionals.. let's just merge it all into one big hot mess.

i bet you guys would like that wouldn't you. at least a few of you would learn how to use the search function.

But Icemark said the bad ideas are the ones we have to fight for (fabrication forum), and the good ones just happen (think David Copperfield).

I find it kind of funny that this was moved.

I just don't think there should be too many subsections in the lounge. I mean it's billed as "For threads that don't really fit into other categories," which I think is appropriate, but then all the additional subsections are overkill, IMO. It's like trying to be more exact than "Miscellaneous"

and that is why it no longer exists.
