And who might i change to that doesn't lease their lines from bell? Or tell me that i wont be throttled, but will have to pay out my *** for GB i go above their cheesy cap's? I have been with Rogers and it only took 3 months before i started receiving emails stating that i have been monitored dl'ing illegal software and not to long after that they just closed my account! Plus having to pay ridiculous amounts per GB i went above their 60gb cap per month or whatever it was I am with a company called teksavvy right now, and they are great. They want nothing to do with this throttle but there is nothing they can do but fight as they lease from bell

-laughs- This is quite funny.

Rogers has been inspecting packets forever. I like the language they used to say they were not checking what you were doing, rather just limiting your ability to do certain things.

In all fairness. You whoring your connection and as a by product killing everyone elses is a problem that had to be remedied. Otherwise, the alternative is they charge you more per month to make up for the usage. They could argue you are using 10x the usage than the average user, therefore your rate should be increased expodentially. If you do not like Bell, go to Rogers. Granted for 100gig you pay 60$. What you paying right now?

There are a lot of ignorant posts here. Sheesh, time to clear things up a bit. People are misrepresenting companies, it seems like some of the people posting here work for Bell. Sheesh.

ON ~

Usually I would not even post, but some of the things that people are saying are so ignorant and so far gone out of reality, it makes me laugh and everyone needs to understand how ridiculous these comments are.

He went on to say that the fact that CBC's (and therefore the government's) mandate is to offer the tax paying members of the public, delivery of it's content through all means of media to allow for full accessibility. Bell spokesman Jason Laszlo said there has been no backlash from customers. I say prove to him that that is NOT the situation. I for one will be contacting Bell, Rogers, and my local MPP with my concerns. I will also be contacting New Democrat MP Charlie Angus and letting him know that I support his efforts in this matter.
So we should be vocal about Bell Capping its own internet services?
"60GB of usage per month during the initial contract term; $1.50/additional GB, rounded up to the next GB, up to $30/month.Bundle discount may be terminated by Bell upon 30-day notice Did you read terms of use? Do you think it is your right to download **** day in and day out and use up all the bandwidth? You are limited to 60 gigs a month, they are doing you a favor, your addiction is going to get you booted off their network!

You think that parliament is going to fight for your downloading rights? Your right to use excessive bandwitdh? Your right to download all day, all night, and twice as much on the weekened? Get real. You pay 49$ a month for 7mbps connection, and a 60 GIG CAP! Nevermind the gigabyte fee for each additional (up to 30$). You want no cap? You want freedom? Go pay for Business Dedicated Line. For 150$ a month and more you can download all you want. The first question that would be asked by anyone with any common sense is, "What on earth is a person downloading all day and all night, in order to use up so much bandwidth? Lets see... Pirated Software, Music, Videos, ****, and all other types of COPYWRITED MATERIALS. You are watching streaming video? Of what? You are listening to audio? From where? P2P? Lets see 90% of P2P servers are transmitting illegal software/media. Try this for a month, trying only accesing sources on the internet that are legitimate, and lets see if it affects your experience.

But at least DSL is STILL better then rogers cable.. rogers truly sucks for anything but the most basic surfing..
I despise Bell. But to say that they shouldnt cut down on abuse is ridiculous. Most of you are lucky they are not inspecting what you are downloading, which they could. Most of you would be up on charges. Online Gaming of the many you mentioned does not take up 60GIGS of bandwidth. BT/P2P does. Personally, I pay for Rogers 100gig a month, I max my 100gig each month. I PAY FOR 100 GIGS. If you are unhappy with your cap, pay more. Now for anyone who ever suggests that Bell has better service than Rogers (internet wise), these people have either never tried Rogers or think PPOE connections are cool. -laughs- I was one of Roger's original testers when they came out at the beginning, with their PANASONIC Cablemodems, 1 Mbps down, 256k up. That was BLAZING FAST! You people complain about 7mbps. Get with reality, you are paying cheap rates for internet that you abuse daily, if you do not like it, pay for a dedicated line, and quit your whining.

This is exactly the point. Under your terms of use, you should not be downloading "DVD or Blue-Ray quality" Disks. That would be copywrited materials that you do not have the rights to use, reproduce or distribute. Where on CBC do you find these downloads? Where do you find downloads of 6gb-18gb that are legit? They are framing their service for LEGITIMATE uses. You should not be surprised that they capped it at 30k when no site (even youtube 30k is alright), requires more than that. To play a game online, you do not need 300k/s.

You have a few choices.

1. Stop being cheap asses, and pay for a better connection. (This will result in you going to Rogers for the bit more expensive but better service/cap).

2. Get a dedicated line. This in 99% of the cases will not happen, since you all believe 49.99 or 60$ is "too much." If you think about it in real terms, the pirated software you download so frequently is worth more than what you paid for the service.

3. You will stay with Bell, because your mother has her name on the account and you have no job, and stay with your parents. I suggest for you people, to talk to your parents, explain that your **** addiction requires you to upgrade your cap/bandwith limits.. Then after you tell them, they can cancel your access, and start putting you in therapy, and save us the headaches of reading your posts.

God.. When will these people learn.

Good riddance.

I was saying in the future they are pushing digital downloads which MEANS you download a DVD, or a BLU-RAY instead of going to blockbuster and renting it. And doing that at 30k Caped, would be total BS. Welcome to the future...

Telling you guys, switch to execulink. You can get Cable or DSL, for cheaper on both sides, and there's no download CAP. Bundle up your DSL with VOIP phone and you're only paying 60$ a month for both. I can easily see 300kb/s + downloads on my computer everyday. They even have cable TV if you'd like to bundle up with that too. I've been with them for 7/8 years now and haven't had a single problem.
