Where do you dump gas?

Where do you lawfully dump old stale gas?

If anybody knows specifically in Calgary that would help.

Thanks

Over here I dump my fluids (oil and coolant) at the dump. The guy doesn't even ask me what's in the container.

Doesn't your dump have a chemical disposal spot?

CompuBob 05-17-06 11:09 PM

Lawnmower.

lawnmower ftw!

Last fall I bought a 90 that had sat for like, 5 years - the gas in it was AWFUL!

I mixed it about 70(oldgas/30(newgas) and have been using it in the lawnmower all spring!

I take mine down to the hazardous waste depot at the local dump. There's no charge but you do have to bring it in an approved container and they take your ID and license numbers.

I have a mole hole along the edge of my driveway. I figure that's a good spot for fuel and antifreeze so i can kill the little bastard living under my driveway. LOL

Thanks for info, I know the reclycling place here in town takes coolant and used oil, maybe I will try there.

Or i might just stick it in the cavalier and finally kill the son of a bitch

In small doses would it hurt an engine(with fuel injection), say like a 10(good) to 1(bad) ratio.

Find a decent repair garage, sometimes they will let you dispose of stuff like that. Not so much coolant, but oil/gas they get money for

Terrh 05-19-06 12:36 AM

it really depends on how bad it is

I'd use it 10:1 in a car I didn't care about sure!

KeloidJonesJr. 05-19-06 12:42 AM

You can sell them to me ;)

Coolant, oil, gas, solvent- all have to be PAID by the shop to dispose of....I know...just come look at the bills I have for it.

Your city should have a hazardous waste disposal recycling centre. Take it there. Or start using it in your lawn mower, snow blower and weedwacker

Make some Molotov cocktail and deliver to any shop that have ripped you off before.

Just the suspicious looking characters. The rest of us don't get ID. :p:

I haven't disposed of gas before, but I know all three city landfills in Calgary collect used oil and coolant and paint, amongst other hazardous wastes and recycleables. No charge (last time I went, at least), just tell the guy at the gate what you have and they'll direct you to the correct area. Info can be found at the city's website, calgary.ca. The appropriate department link is below. There it says charges do apply to all loads - either its changed, or maybe they just waive it when its small amounts vs commercial disposal.

I'd just burn it in my lawnmower :) - I'm using last summer gas in it right now.
