What are your winter mods/upgrades?

Since most of us have put away our cars for the winter. It's time for winter mods and changes.

I"ll be removing my ricer A-pillar pod along with the gauges and putting them in the center speaker position.

Changing out my couplers to black instead of blue.

I have to replace the left rear corner of my truck box, there is a seam there, was repaired previously, no seam sealer was used, and the seam rusted out. Luckily I can still get that corner piece from Mazda, just have to get off my butt and learn how to install it correctly.

After that, I want to get my Pathfinder rear axle installed. This is on a B2200,, the Pathfinder axle is a 9.25" ring gear, LSD, disc brakes, and a 4.65 gear ratio, and has the same 6-bolt wheel pattern. Going to keep my stock leafs, just weld on some leaf perches. This axle has a speed sensor, so I can start using the launch control features of my Adaptronic ECU with this axle too.

I also hope to install my S4/S5 TII hybrid motor in the truck, to replace the S4 NA 6-port. Will be running it without the turbo to start with, until I get the parts to turbo it, like a larger exhaust system, etc...

Coilovers and sway bars.

Install new re- leathered seat with custom logo. So nice. Brand new seats. Install robxx7 front lip. Tie in fuel pressure sensor to adaptonic. Maybe some new ev14 fuel injectors if I think it's worth it.

Still ll want big brake kit and suspension.

Hope she gets put back together soon

Johnny Kommavongsa 12-20-16 06:11 PM

Yea that does not look fun. I used flexible claw arm thing to help with wiring on the gauge center mount.

misterstyx69 12-28-16 11:28 PM

..anyone know who can make a front sway bar?...
my 302'd FC is a little funky to fit a stock one in and the recommended E36 BMW sway is 2 inches too narrow.

gio64 12-29-16 07:37 AM

Doing a battery relocation in the trunk and spiffying up the trunk after non working Bose system removal.

Buggy 12-29-16 06:14 PM

I have a list a mile long for the rx4. The rear axle and front suspension are already tore apart.
rebuild rear diff, sa 5 speed swap, raise front suspension by about 1.5", new front shocks, possibly some goodies from ttt for the front too, fix some electrical gremlins, fix fuel gauge, an fuel lines and fittings, possibly new wheels and tires, fix some small rust spots I found after I got it back from Joe (totally my fault didn't know they were there lol). Pretty sure there is more on my list too that's just what I can remember off hand.

Putting this thing together....finally

Most of my stuff big stuff got installed in the fall before winter (engine, turbo, smart coils etc), but i still need to install a few more things

1) Shine auto side steps
2) Pro diffuser
3) Dump tubes on wastegate
4) New stereo deck
5) Dash Cam--- (Everyone should install one)
6) Planing on changing the bumper asap but haven't found one that i like other then 99 spec

Thats about it, but i know the list is going to grow lol

rx7mn 01-05-17 06:15 PM

1) T3 Lower Control Arms & TC rods
2) T3 Upper and lower Trailing arms
3) Panhard/ lateral bar
4) Roll centre Adjusters
5) Side Mount Seat Rails

Maybe a LSD, and Rear Disc Brake Swap if there is time

PnoyRx7 01-05-17 06:41 PM

maybe end of winter repairs but...

1) install used front strut assembly from GXL onto vert
2) Grand Marquis meshies and locate some tires i like
3) In the process finding a T2 hood
4) shampoo the damn carpet
5) figure out damn stupid crappy cold idle. it bounces up and down while cold and sounds as if its going to die before picking back up but it is fine when warm. already checked thermowax all is good, maybe ill just leave it since holding the throttle is a stop gap measure for now which is probably not a good idea
