Unfortunately you can't import the MR-S into Canada.

RidicilousRx7 05-28-05 07:47 PM

can i ask why you cant? i know of a improted R32, Evo VIII, lotus elise,R33 (dealer plates), why cant u bring the mr-s?

daem0n 05-29-05 01:11 AM

Because the MR-S is a US car and was never made here...it doesn't meet our standards. And if you want to import the Japanese one, you'll have to wait until it's 15 years old.

RidicilousRx7 05-29-05 10:03 AM

it is a us car, you can bring it here but you have to take it and get it to go thru all the safety junk, replace the inner bumpers, its alot of work and alot of $ but its possible...

If its brought here and 'Abandoned', when you reinstate the title, you dont need an inspection. Or so I've heard.

I did not know you had to wait until 15 years. That is way too long.

RidicilousRx7 05-29-05 12:39 PM

thats only for european and japanese right hand drive vehicles...

The MR-S was never licensed for here in Canada. You can't replace the bumpers because there was no Canadian model. Toyota would need to say that it meets standards and they won't do that otherwise they'd be selling the car here. This doesn't make sense.

Or you could design the bumper reinforcements, then crash test one, then put your bumper reinforcements on another car.

Or......................... vinswap............
