Smog and etesting in BC

What are the laws for smog testing and emissions in BC I am thinking of moving there with my 1982 rx7 but it is deffinetly not complyent with the rules if ontario and other places with such requirements. Does it make a difference if your car is over 25 years old or is it the same for everone.

No freebees unless you live outside the lower mainland - no matter how old your car is! You can get "collector" status, but that would be hard to justify really! You will need to do it EVERY year.

I had the same problem when I moved from the east to BC with my '86. When I rebuilt the engine I ditched all the smog stuff, only to now need it! I was able to pass aircare with an air pump and the stock cats.

Is vancover island considered lower mainland and as im writing this i am realizing how stupid i am making myself sound so would vancover island be smog and etested also

I think you are exempt if you live on the island! The AirCare boundaries are from Furry Creek to Chilliwack so I think you'd be fine. I'd call them to be sure though! lol

your perfectly fine living on the island, no aircare. Hail 4" exhausts lol
