Rx7 FD help

Hey, i notice the rpm gauge on my rx7 has these random bounces and was woundering if any of you know how to repair it?

I know that the Sec gen RPM Gauge runs off Trailing..if the Fd Runs the same, then I would check the Plug wires and the Plugs themselves..fouled trailing plugs will alter the Tach...then again I have been wrong before!

Wouldn't be the plugs, the signal is still being sent to the plugs regardless.

my bets on the cluster being a bit funky.

the cluster? hmmm i dunno what would i have to do to replace it?

Search the term "Tach" & "bouncing" in the 3rd gen section and you'll get alot of informative threads. Read them all and you'll see that there are grounding issues and points that often need to be re-soldering on the cluster. If you still don't have an answer post a more specific question based on what you learned by reading in the 3rd gen section and I am sure you'll get some help.

and if the Plug doesn't Spark?..Try to get teh 2nd gen tach to work with Fouled plugs..you will see what I mean..

My tach would stick at about 2,500 rpm, then break free at about 6 then shoot out. I got a cluster off ebay, swapped the tach, and no problems since. Easy as pie.

+1 on the cluster being the issue....there are a couple of guys down south who've posted in the 3rd gen section that they offer a repair service if you send it in. If you ask, I'm sure someone will chime in.
