No longer an RX-7 owner

Sold my S5 the other day after almost 15 years of ownership. The car was dependable to a fault, and it gave me many years of enjoyment. Was massively difficult to see it go, but life progresses. Kids, and a general lack of time to be able to properly care for and enjoy the car forced this eventuality. RX-7's and rotaries in general are special cars; they have a lot of soul, and I'm guessing I'll be revisiting rotary ownership in the future, but for now I'm on a sabbatical.

Just wanted to take a moment to reach out to long time owners here on the board, and to some of the great people I met over the years due to shared interests in these great cars. And also to give credit to new and young owners who are discovering these cars and are keeping passion in RX-7's alive despite their ageing status.

I've had my 93 fro 12 yrs and counting....love it to death and totally understand what you mean with not be able to get out and drive/enjoy as much as you would like......Kids, family life/commitments etc. Don't know that I could ever make that decision to sell, but I agree owning a rotary is very addictive. Cheers and all the best...hope to see you return to the addiction. Eddie.

Mr. Eccentric!!
Sucks to hear, but we know "life gets in the way" all too well.
At least you were one of the few who have owned and enjoyed a unique vehicle. And hopefully later down the road you'll be able to enjoy yourself again. :)

I've owned mine for over 17yrs now. She's a part of me. It will never get sold. Afterall, everyone I know regrets selling their first car.

Don't worry Mr.Eccentric. The new owner will take very good care of the FC. His FD is taking a backseat to the FC these days.

Make sure you listen to the Leppard! The car responds with an extra 10hp.
Thanks man! I know it's in good hands.

Sorry for your "loss" and enjoyed having you as a member of the rotary community for so many years!

Enjoy it while you are gone, run as far as you can.

I Tried hard and 5 years later sucked me back in.

It's known as the "Rotor Vortex"..

Haven't been without spinny triangles for the last 12 years...

Congrats, it's easier to quit smoking!

Kind of in the same boat. Have had my FC since 1996. Sometimes no time to fix things properly in a short timespan, so I just dont drive it for a while and let it take however long it takes. Not sure if that makes sense. Replacing fuel lines atm. I wanna sell it when I see things on the to do list, but realize I'm just too picky and my standards are too high. Then, whenever something is off the list and complete, I have one less reason to sell. Catch 22.
