Thumbs up Mazda Corral - Mobil 1 Grand Prix of Mosport July 18-21 2013

Hey guys,

I've recently been contacted by Mazda's Marketing department regarding the Grand Prix of Mosport.

Quote:

For the second year, Mazda Canada is hosting a Car Corral at the Mobil 1 Grand Prix of Mosport. As you know, last year we had a terrific group of Mazda owners, from Miata’s, RX-7’s and RX-8’s to Mazda3’s and Protégé’s. We all enjoyed some beautiful sunshine and watched some exciting racing.
I’d like to offer 10 tickets to the RX-7/RX-8 groups.

As you can see, Mazda is going to be hosting a nice get together again and are offering 10 tickets to the event.

This is the schedule for the event:

Mazda Corral
Mobil 1 Grand Prix of Mosport - July 18-21, 2013
Your Mazda Corral Ticket includes:
Four-day admission to the Grand Prix of Mosport
Access to a private tented area and parking in Corner Eight - Friday to Sunday
A chance to drive your Mazda on a parade lap
Sunday BBQ Lunch

Now those first 10 tickets are first come, first serve since I think that's the fairest way of doing things. This is 1 ticket per head. So if you're going to bring your significant other, you need to specify 2 tickets when you give me your name.

Normally tickets are $115 ($125 after July 5th).

Lets see if we can get more cars than last year out!

Either respond to this thread or PM me if you're interested in tickets.

I will post on this thread as soon as all 10 tickets are gone.

P.S. I have an order form for more tickets if you're interested or you can visit this link to get tickets: 9) Mazda Corral - Mobil 1 Grand Prix of Mosport

Anyone else other than Neo hear from Mazda this year, or is it because we all have spinning triangles not up and down pop cans for engines?

Hey Guys,

The weekend is fast approaching. Here's the update for those of you who got tickets from me.

As expected, the tickets will be at the Registration trailer, at the Main Entrance off Concession #10. ID will be required to pick up your tickets.

Mazda Corral days & hours of operation are:

Fri. July 19 (1 p.m.– 4 p.m.)

Sat. July 20 (9 a.m. – 5 p.m.)

Sun. July 21 (9 a.m. – 6 p.m.)

Your Mazda Corral pass is good for four-day admission to the Grand Prix. A weekend schedule will be posted on the website in the weeks prior to the event.

A listing of exclusive Mazda Corral activities will be finalized this week. At that time you can consult the Canadian Tire Motorsport Park website for details. Activities will also be listed on site at the Mazda Corral chalet tent.

Mazda Corral is located on the inside of Corner 8. Enter the circuit through the Main Gate and follow the signs.

Mazda Corral parking area is exclusively for Mazda Corral pass holders, and only Mazda’s will be permitted to park in the area.

On Sunday, July 21 (Race Day), a continental breakfast, a BBQ lunch & beverage service will be provided. Lunch will be served at approximately 12:30 pm (but is subject to change).

The Parade lap is Sunday, July 21ST at 7:00 am. REGISTRATION TIMES FOR THE MAZDA CORRAL PARADE LAP IS NO LATER THAN 6:15 am THE MORNING OF THE LAP.

Here's hoping for some good weather this weekend!

See everyone there!!

Just a note ALMS Corral parade laps are dramatically different then following Al around the track for his lunchtime lapping sessions which a number of you have attended on regional race weekends. ALMS keeps everyone slow, silly slow sometimes.

Hopefully they might've learned from the previous attempt. Might be able to pick up the pace this time around??

It was really fun seeing Ian and Nick and a bunch of other 3 guys at the Mazda Coral! Did anyone else go? There was a red vert but I didn't know who the owner was.

I love Mazda. They are usually so modest with their marketing spendings but focuses all of their energy and money on real motorsports events. Mazda definitely had THE largest presence at the ALMS out of all the manufacturers. There were so many Mazda displays littered through out the park, not to mention a massive section partitioned for the SCCA Miata races.

Definitely a proud owner here.

I agree with Howi. Thanks to Mazda for hosting the Mazda Coral. This makes my third attendance on the Mobil 1 Grand Prix of Mosport event. Love the atmosphere.

Many thanks goes to Howi and the Sigma Time Attack (SRTA) gang for the help in entertaining my son at the Sony tent and Mazda tent with the Humanracing GT simulator. Too much fun hitting Mosport on the big screen on full simulation in a Mazda. My son loved it and even said he was doing better then me. At under 4 years old he crashed less then me. LOL.

Next year I should be all out in full force at Simga...and hope to attend yet another Mazda Corral Tent hang out.

Yep, I made it out there for Sat. Sadly I couldn't make it out for Sunday.

Met up with a few of the usual suspects.

Big thanks to Mazda's crew for the day! Always good to see the event sponsored by a great manufacturer!

Can't wait to get a new 3!!!

Thanks to Mazda Canada once again! Now let's see if the combined ALMS and Grand-Am will be there next year. There are lots of rumours but nothing firmed up as of yet.
In regards to a post above, the red vert was Hockley Comet. He let his girlfriend drive it to the track, but she was his fiancee when they left on Sunday! See a separate post regarding Dyson Racing marriage proposal.

Big thanks to Mazda for having everyone out. Was nice to see some people I haven't seen in a while and put a few names to faces.

Thanks to the Sigma guys for the amazing simulator. I was feeling pretty good with my laps by the end of the weekend, right up until a real pro driver showed everyone how its done.

Hope to see everyone again out at the Sigma event this weekend for the big Mazda meet.

Hope to see more people out next year (if it happens, fingers crossed) and thanks Neo for the ticket
