Went to JRP today. They have just about everything you would want and in stock. Basically got everything I wanted to and they even had the hub assemble for my rx7 in stock. Recommended place to shop from me!! Can't wait to install it.

Thanks Jim K (JDK) for helping me pick a seat and steering wheel etc.

Not pictured is redline oils and other smaller items.

Christmas for me :)

Jrp is a great place to deal with kind of a pain in the ass when you want to order something in but overall a good place

Does the Rx7 club still get a discount ?, or that was a decade ago ?

? What discount is this...

hybrid g.

You can come down any time you want:) We are just about the same height. I am 6'1. Sitting in the chair is fine for me (And according to Jim) but apparently over 6' they have the pro2000 plus. It brings the shoulder "flairs?" up higher and I assume the seat belt holes.
I didn't buy the sliders but rather the planters and will be bolting it to the floor. Need room as I don't fit in with a helmet with the stock setup without bending my head a bit and moving the seat to a not the best spot....

If asking, then I assume no more discount, Jim a few years ago, negotiated a 10or 15% discount for Rx7 members.

I just checked the discount for Rx7 members, and its no longer there. Still very fair prices

Well put the steering wheel on. At least the hub. The steering wheel didn't come with the bolts to mount it onto the hub. Probable Extra? You wouldn't think so for a list $250 steering wheel. also the NRG hub will not fit on with the stock plastic surround. Didn't notice and tightened it on and snap goes the plastic. Now its an exposed steering rack. Yuck..

The seat mounted on the planted rails do not fit in the FC. Waste of a purchase on the rails as I cannot return them as I already installed them onto the seat. It looks like I will have to completely bolt the seat to the floor. Even with the seat sitting on the floor (and the bottom cushion It was missing when I unpacked the seat and still need to get it from JRP) my head is pretty close to the roof even without the helmet. Might be a fun drive to DGRR with this seat:)

You sure can't catch a break huh? Super nice parts but everything is a headache.

IAN 12-24-11 12:52 PM

It will all fit. Just a bit of work I suppose:)

Oops. Forgot to post the pictures on my previous post

Some trimming and slight modifications to the 20year+ year old plastic and it now looks like the NRG hub was built from the factory:) Pictures to follow! Eventually :)

FC3Sdrift 12-24-11 06:58 PM

That steering wheel is friggen sweet!!!
does it stick to the racing gloves almost like velcro?

I love my Sparco sprints in my FC, you dont notice how much you move around in stock seats till you go for the first ride with the new seats. checking your blindspot is kind of a bitch I stick my head out the window alot to check wen mergin and shit lol, i dont mind tho.
if you just drive faster than everyone else you dont need to check your blind spot

In the pictures it looks grey in fact its black. And they stick like a mofo. Bare hand, mechanics gloves and I can only assume race gloves. Liking so far. Can't wait to get the bolts to properly attach it to the hub...

Not sure. As the passenger seat is staying for now. Also they are in great shape. Like everything I ever sold in the future I decide I wanted it back I will not find it as good a condition or twice more then what I sold it for:)

I am looking for a leather seat myself for the 10th AE. Passenger or drivers. Problem is leather seats are hard to come by in good shape. Why do you need seats? Haven't seen any pictures or progress updates on you car so I forgot which direction you were going.

I have Grey Cloth TII seats in my car with a blue interior, not the best, but oh well. Not much progress with the new house, and the baby on the way, but it should get going shortly, I now have the shop to work on the car, just need the time, and some extra cash.

Ian, just some advice on the seat mounting. I had to lay mine back almost like a formula car and move it very close to the tranny tunnel to get it to fit. I am only 5"11", but it was almost impossible to get a comfortable seating position without doing that.

Al had to cut out all the stock seat rail mounting braces to get the seat low enough. I can fit in his car very well, but the seat is too far away from the pedals and steering wheel for me. As you move the seat further back in the car, the head space from the floor increases.

Eric

Thanks Eric. Right now I played with different angles and seats positions for like an hour or two. Not close yet. Might have to bring it in to get some real work on the floor. (I'm 6'1) I have the seat layed back right now so you are sort of laying it it and as far towards the passenger seat. I don't like the idea of being off centered so to speak.

Some times not to sure why I keep on playing... Gonna be a lot of work when I get my 10th AE back too. :(
