I purchased the car from Jim as a rolling chassis last winter. it was quite obvious what type of engine that i was going to be putting in, a LS2 motor! just kidding, she will always have the heart of a rotary.
Jim and I sat down last year and discussed my plans, I decided that I wanted something different, a 13B REW peripheral port. So with a vision in mind, plans were put into motion. A set of mint rotor housings and irons were sent off to GOOPY PERFORMANCE to get the porting and sealing done. The rotating assembly was sent over to Joe from RPM to get the rotating assembly balanced. A must for an engine seeing 8-10k rpm's, cheap insurance in my opinion.
I got some exciting news last week as Jim told me that the engine was built, yay!!!
This is how the engine sits as of today.

For engine management, the car came with a PFC, and under guidance it was not going to do the job right. So I ending up getting a Haltech RE.
It sadly does not come with a fuse block or relays , I ended up making my own.

I will be updating as I progress. Other than the engine and haltech the car is pretty much done.

I like your engine management panel. I still wish you would have gone with a Microtech though. Can't wait to see it on track.

Nice. Were are you gonna run this car?

simgabe 04-20-14 12:58 PM

Well all I'm looking for this year is seat time, so preferably sigma, I may have a sponsor which will then force me to CSCS.
Either way, the car is not going to be at it's full potential until next year, lack of funds.
Did someone say sequential gear box? I did baby!

Small update,
I got the engine installed, did a bit more wiring and plumbing.

The air box that came with the EFI throttle body kit did not fit properly, It would not go on actually.
The intake part of the box which is angled towards the passenger headlight was hitting the strut tower. Modification was next, I thought this was going to be complicated. It turned out much easier than I thought.
This is how the lower portion of the air box came cut with the necessary holes to mount on-top of the throttle body.
Attachment 645981
The yellow tape is where I did fiber glass work to block of the holes.
I repositioned the base on the TB and turned it so the top would fit. Marked new spot for holes.
Attachment 645982
Still lots to do, mount the radiator and finish the wiring.
