1 of the best upgrades I did to the FD.
So much better than the stock halogens.
Gotta make sure you re-aim the headlights after the install. Otherwise the difference is literally night and day!

While you're at it, might as well change some of the bulbs to LED's. The tailights benefit greatly from LED's. Can't beat the rapid response of LED's compared to conventional bulbs.

ok sweet i'm gonna do it....a buddy of mine just started a business and hes doing them for 250 installed and they seem to be very good quality and the bulbs are made by philips as well...what leds did you get for your tails? any pics?

Just remember to re-aim the lights. HID's in a Halogen tend to shine......well, everywhere.

And the number, like 4000k is just the colour. I think 3800k is the brightest, then everything after gets progressively dimmer but changes colour.

seriously, here's a pic of the cutoff on my FD, this is AFTER i made custom glare shields using sheet aluminum, notice the shadow of my toyota matrix, you just can't win

though it was much worse when installed with no custom heat shield. You can see the ridiculous light scatter on the right (left side i experimented with a glare shield made of tin foil, reduces light scatter but the glare remains

It's not as bad as people think. You don't really blind people since our cars are so low. I actually got highbeamed in the Miata with the projectors instead of the reflectors on the FD.
Aim them properly and you'll be fine.

As for the LED's, you can't tell the difference in photos. You really have to see it in the flesh to notice the difference.
It's a wise investment due to the level of performance these cars provide.
