Great RX7 Video
In car from the 4 rotor IMSA GT0 RX7. Love the sound and the action. What's even cooler is that's an old team mate of mine driving the ICI Beretta just ahead of him and I get to watch how he drives.
I love it when the RX7 driver holds up his hand, sorta going "whaaa ?" when he sees the Beretta pull on him out of the corners. Last year the guy was able to pull the Beretta without an issue. Since then the V6 in the Beretta went to McLaren Race Engines and is back to its old self. I really enjoyed this one as having the camera mounted on the helmet gives you a real experience as to what you see and are looking at as a driver. Eric |
Another cool video.
And a super video; You had to be a man to drive one of these things. These videos are the next best thing to being there. Eric |
nice vids! :)

|
Yea very cool sounding car wow!!

That 4-rotor one is a great video (I haven't watched the others yet), love the sound and perspective, shame he's got to look at the back of that Beretta the whole way.
I was wondering why he's got those urine samples sitting on the dash though - SCCA drug testing? ;) |
I don't believe that was a 4 rotor. Just a 3 rotor. :)
Still sounds great! |
It was a 4-rotor. Been there, witnessed it a few times. If you want to go let me know I'm headed back next year. There is nothing like supercar week in Carmel/Monterey:
|
Wow! Really? The 2nd gen rx7 GTO in the first vid is a 4 rotor? You sure about that?
Yeah, I'll make a note to visit Monterey next year during car week. Who needs Monaco? ;) |

I've read about the 4 rotor FCs before as well - might have been Grassroot Motorsports.
|
Just wanted to correct something, the V6 in the Beretta was actually built and truly engineered by a very smart man in BC. I have no idea why I thought it was McLaren Race Engines. Totally my mistake and must have been mixing different cars together.
Still a very fast car. Eric |
The 1989 - 1991 IMSA GTO RX-7's were tube chassis race cars and had nothing to do with the street version FC at that time. They were naturally aspirated 4 rotors that developed close to 700HP in race trim.
