Anyone bought tires through Tirerack recently?
Just wondering if anyone has bought new tires through tirerack, now that they charge you brokerage on the site. Does UPS hit you up again with no lube? Or is it true what they say, it's a one shot deal?
Thanks, Kevin |
I had to buy a pair of tires for my Jag (no idea how they would have worn out) and if I recall correctly, I only had to pay one brokerage fee. I can't remember if it was to TireRack or to UPS, but I was charged when I ordered and my wife didn't have to pay to receive the tires.

Hmmm thats good to know, anyone else?

Dunno...hey that pic in your sig is outta date!
|
Not really... even my car will start if I charge the battery...

You only need to pay the amount that is given on the website.
The UPS guys will drop the tires off without collecting anymore cash. You might want to schedule someone to receive the package. My bro ordered his tires and those guys just left them in front of the garage door. I found that odd. I guess the driver didn't want to come back or he had enough confidence to think nobody would steal them. I have to order a set of tires for the 3. I think my total is going to come out to $300 and change. |
Yeah, I'm looking at over 800 bucks for the rx7, and on tirerack they are a little over 500... so it's a huge savings, even installed it's worth it. But around here no one is going to steal tires.

Before you guys order tires from Tirerack you should let Billy at Tires23 give you a quote...you maybe surprised.

Just got off the phone with Billy, and he quoted me 512 installed, so I am going that route, might as well keep the jobs, and money in Canada. Thanks as always Jim!

Never ship UPS unless the value is understated. only USPS/canadapost will be reasonable with only taxes required. hybrid |
Like the other posted have stated they only charge you once on brokerage, I have been raped many times by UPS i know their game, DHL is the shit btw!

I don't know when you ordered them, but I've recieved an invoice from the shipper two months after recieving a package for brokerage fees.

Just got the tires yesterday, and the service was pretty much as good as it gets, I will buy more tires from Billy at Tires23 for sure.
|
I had to bring 2 set of wheels up from them (legally of course)and as usual by the time all was said and done they cost about 40% more than the price you start with. It is still cheaper to buy in Canada. The only reason we buy from Tirerack is they have to market cornered on 50 positive or better rims it seems.
