3 Hour Sundowner September 18th 2010

Seeing as I had previously stated, in another thread, that I wasn't going to do this race due to co-driver issues, I wanted to let everyone know about the latest developments. Nummelin Motorsports has been fortunate to be able to sign up Tony Morris JR. as a co-driver for this event, so we are now able to do the 3 Hour Sundowner Race on September 18th at Mosport.

Anybody from the motorsport scene out west will know about Tony and his accomplishments. He is extremely fast and can take care of equipment, so we are delighted to be able to put him in the car. He has won a number of Formula Ford Championships, some Honda Michelin Championships and a number of high profile GT Races out west including those at the various Indycar Events in Vancouver and Edmonton.

Information on the car that will be raced;

Mazda RX7 - FC #23 Class GT4 (ex-CCTCC ST)

Motor - RPM built 1/2 bridge S5 NA internals in a TII Keg, N-Sport 4 Throat ITB Induction, Racing Beat Road Race Header, Megasquirt controlled.
Suspension - Bilstein and Koni damped Coilover setup, Suspension Techniques Front Bar, rod ended through out.
Brakes - Stock Mazda Calipers, stock Mazda rotors, braided steel lines, Hawk pads
Tires - Toyo RA1's
Wheels - Ronal
Aero - Anthony Woodford Racing Nose, N-Sport Rear Wing

Nummelin Motorsports invites out everybody to come out and say hello through the day and to stay for the race. The lapping session at lunch will give you a great introduction and some exposure to what is going on during the race. We should be able to set a new race lap record for the car at this event and we hope to be able to see a number of RX7 Club members at the track.

Regards,

Eric Nummelin

We'll see you on the track.
We're planning 2 driver changes and gas fill-ups. Should be a hectic and fun!

Yes. The one hour sure was fun and that was without fillups.

Congrats on the Ottawa race team for qualify 2nd in a mixed gt challange. (Some GT1 cars were in the mix!) Wish I had pictures but I am to lazy to post anyhow...

ill be there too, maybe we can tune your megasquirt before you head out there too?

We are planning 2 stops with fill ups as well and one driver change. I have done a lot of these type of races and we are going to be ready to rock and roll for the weekend. The car runs very well and we haven't decided yet if we are going to change anything before the race ( I am leaning towards no, but I am not sure). If you wanted to look at the maps with Dave, that would be great and any changes you want to make, we can do at the track before practice.

If anybody wants to help out in the pit crew, pm me. I have 4 crew people already, but you can always use more. In a 3 hour, almost anything can happen and it always helps to have more knowledge.

Doesn't hurt to take a peak at things :)

Where will you guys be setup? Also I might be able to help out with the crew there if needed. What time will you be needing us from till?

23Racer 09-08-10 09:07 AM

The race is from 4 to 7, so any time after lunch to about 7:30 would be great. If we want to look at the maps, you would need to be there in the morning, so that we can test out any changes in practice or qualifying.

Set up, I am not sure right now as it usually depends on available space. I am looking at somewhere inside of turn 1, so that it is easy to run back to the pit area to get stuff if we need to.
