1/18th scale Autoart 787B!

Yep, they've finally made a decent size model of this racing car. There are no photos yet but they do have a part number.. AART89144

Expected to go for about $70US.

It's suppose to debut in Nov/Dec....

At least I have something to ask for Xmas now...

It's about time. I don't understand why Toyota's LeMans car has been made by Auto Art for years now and it didn't even win the race.

I've been waiting for the limited ed. Minichamps 787b for 3 years now. I don't know what the delay is; it's ridiculous. Only 1:43 scale though.

This is good news.

Back from the dead...

I've tried to garner some insight on a timeline for this model, with essentially no luck.

Neo, you seem to have a little more information on this piece. Any release date imminent?

Funny this surfaces now...

On friday I was in an automobile model/book shop, and was looking at the 1:43 (I think) ($92 CAD) scale Autoart 787b, and the salesman said "They have a 1:18 scale coming soon that is a very high-end product. It will be a 'few hundred' I'm sure, but well worth it."

The 1:18th scale prototype was on display at 7stock in Sept.
so they must be working on the fine details...

Autoart always releases their models 1-3months from their intial posts...

They said this piece would be ready in mid-late June... So I'm expecting to see this thing around August or so.. lol

Unless they've changed management, I doubt it'll come out this month....

I'll keep an eye out for it... Gotta get this one to complete my set..

Well, according to Autoart's website, there have been a few improvements on the 787B model... So expect to pay a bit more than what you'd expect... It's become a "Signature" car now...

On a side note, they're trying to release the 787B with their Renown RX-8... limited edition of course...only 3000pcs world wide!!! Check out the pics...

Yeah, that's what the sales man told me. He also figured that the demand would be such that getting your hands on one may cost more than the MSRP.

Guys, we'll have these on sale at RotaryNews.Com as soon as they are released.

See our previous story at:

http://rotarynews.com/node/view/471

The AutoArt guys told us within the next few weeks.

The latest they told us....

from the AutoArt folks:

They are in the process of finalizing the packaging. Since this will be a very special model and a brand new series for them, they need to package the model properly. The tentative date they are predicting is around mid-late June. Once they have decided on what type of packaging is needed, they are sure the model is ready for launch. Thank you for your patience guys!

Cheers,

-Bern

Hey Bern,

Thanks for the update... only 1 small problem... we live in Canada... anytime we order something through the States, duties and other BS gets piled on.... it turns out cheaper to buy it somewhere local then getting it through the States...

It sucks, but this is our Government at work...

Thanks again,

My friends shop is reporting on their website (http://www.torontomotorsports.com ) that they'll have the Renown livery RX8 in this month and the 787 can be preordered now. They are located on Port Union at the 401. Great shop to browse as he has helmets, suits and other memoribilia from F1 and ChampCar.

Minigrid is saying late summer.

I did a little digging on the Auto Art site...

No details on a release date, however if the wait is for packaging and fine tuning, then I'm more than pleased to wait.

The model is indeed listed under the "Signature" collection, of which only a few cars currently reside.

To date the only scale in the Signature line is 1:12's and only 3 cars. Two Benz CLK GT1's and different coloured Lamborghini street cars.

The 787b will be the first 1:18 scale offering within the Signature line.

Just to tip everyone off, the 1:12 Benz cars are retailing for $399 US. Obviously the 1:18 787b will be less, but it doesn't look like it will be cheap. Nevertheless, I don't think that's going to stop anyone here.
