**Official** Mazda in the Mountains 2005
 

Hello all, this is the official MITM 2005 thread. We checked out Lake Louise again this past weekend and it was PACKED! No parking spots available and the whole lot was full. Park officials were also checking for parking passes before entrance. So this year we've ruled out Louise.

In turn, we found a nice Day Use area in the Bow Valley Provincial Park. Lot will hold about 30 cars or maybe more. There are 3 fire pits, some picnic tables. It's right by the Bow River and facing Mt. Yamnuska. After hanging out and eating..we can all go for a cruise and take pictures. It is about 20 minutes from Highway 40 (Kananaskis Trail)

What to bring: food, radios, cameras, video cameras, friends, NO ALCOHOL

Meet at Canada Olympic Park 1PM
Leave COP 1:45PM
Arrive at Bow Valley around 2:30-2:45PM (hang out)
Cruise optional - I would say this starts around 4PM to whenever we get home.

One more thing...

No out of hand speeding. I know some of you guys got some wicked fast cars. Please behave and we don't wanna get in trouble. Thanks for your co-operation

Adam's 3-Rotor be there? That car hasnt moved as long as I've been into RX-7's. I heard it run once, like 2 years ago.

Hey Jaymez..you drive an STi as well right? You used to be on abcars..when they were still around.

Last time I saw it was at a show. Didnt have any intercooler piping, missing brake caliper, stuff like that. I had heard he was running Microtech but that could just be a rumour. If there was a big hp three rotor running around town, I would probably hear about it through the grapevine and I have not, which leads me to believe it's not up and going, doesnt mean it won't be by the meet though. Besides I think he has and RX-8 he could bring out anyways.

And as for Adams car , I dont think they have goten around to getting it running yet... Maybe soon!

From what I understand, the RX-8 didnt meet his expectations and was returned shorty after purchase. But then again, thats also a rumour. In the many times I've been there over the last couple months, I ain't seen no RX-8.

I guess I will be attending this gathering as well, so long as I can afford the gas and there are enough gas stations along the way (I've got the travel range of a john deer lawn mower)...

adam no longer has the rx-8.. when mazda offered the buy back program because of the inaccurate horsepower rating fiasco, he jumped on it...at least that is what was told to me by the head mech at kramer..

Speaking of the 3 rotor.. I was haveing a coffee this afternoon, around 2ish on 37th.. when i heard this god awful sound.. kind of like a moped that was being rung out with no muffler... I turned around to see what was making this racket, to see a red FD bombing down the road at WOT.. I first thought to myself, "That is one really poor sounding rotary".. then "There's a bunch of traffic, what a twit" .. followed by "I wonder if he has no mufflers" ... as the red car passed I noticed that it had out of province plates on it and a large exhaust tip.. so perhaps the exhaust system had a major exhaust leak...
Anyhow, the car passed and I got back to my coffee.. a few mins later, I hear the same awful sound coming down the street again.. this time the other way..going full tilt again.. But this time I was able to see the driver of the car.. It was none other than adam! .. I had a little laugh to myself... Was this his 3 rotor that was out on the road and he was "tuning" it? It has a mild body kit on it, but it also had the out of province lic plate? ... Or was this a customers car that he was bagging on during a test drive?..

I guess we will find out when the meet comes around..

hahaha... That was Adam driving that gawd awful red 3rd gen, i work at RX7 spec. BTW and we've had that car running for a while but was having problems with the backyard power fc installed. tooooo many cut wires. but it's ready to leave now. the guy just moved from nova scotia, so we'll be seeing a lot of that car.
I talk to adam about MITM and he said that if they're is enuff intrest this year we'll push to have his 3rotor moving. hopfully we will be able too.
I'll be coming in my 7 (hopefully) and another co-woker is expectign to have his turbo 12a datsun running by then. My bro might even come in his VW golf just for the hell of it.

Where I live they're r a few Modded miata's and I would like to invite them to come but, I don't have any exact details to share, so i was wondering if someone more photoshop compatible is willign to make a flyer and post, so i can print and pass on this info, hopefully get a bigger crowd.

I'll send word to the Canadian Rockies Miata Club. Unfourtunately we are having a track day on the following day so I dont know what will happen. I'll check the shedule and see if MITM day is clear.

Also, I might have my supercharger in my Miata by the time the meet rolls around. I was hoping to have it in before winter storage but who knows? Its basically in Flyin Miata's hands now when they bring the kit out. They told me soon.

Ya I'm hoping to be turbocharged by MITM. :). My kit comes in at the end of July

I'm hopign to have my turbo upgrade set up but as it looks now it's not gunna happen. I saw some pics a while ago of a s/c miata, maybe in calgary. would be kool to have a listen to that.

Theres a few Supercharged Miata's around town. Sadly, not as many as there are Turbos. The Flyin Miata Ubercharger is pretty wicked though. Im hoping to aquire a Level 3 which will bring 200-300HP to the wheels. Just waiting for it to come out.
