Okay, so we got to the show, just barely... Fiasco#1:

Before the show we went to the local car wash that we go to every year to get the cars cleaned up and ready, well... on the way to the wash my car started smoking, like through the floor... things were getting hot and my coolant temp was going up, getting into the car wash is a headache of its own just because my car is so low and Washington isn't exactly easy on the driveways. So I drove past it a ways and pulled into a neighborhood. Checked everything out for a sec and figured it was just the exhaust wrap burning some leftover oil from the leak we had earlier or something. So drove over to the car wash and after waiting for a spot got to detailing the car like crazy! However while detailing the engine bay i noticed that the wires for the fan had completely cut themselves in half! That's why it was running hot. In the car wash with water everywhere and people crowding the car we had to re wire the fan XD .

Fiasco #2
So anyway after that happened something still wasn't right and at this point I had no idea why. Was a little low on water so added that, didn't change anything. Anyway was late for the show and had no choice hopped on the freeway and booked it to the collage... I thought the freeway would help the overheating problem but it very much did not... right next to the show I had to shut my car off in horrible traffic it was getting to be about 230 degrees and risking my engine anymore wasn't a choice. So after getting honked at like crazy and pushing my car into a parking lot on the other side of the show we let it cool down tremendously. At that time I was about an hour late for entering the show, grabbed the laptop and made sure that it wasn't just the gauge or the sensor that were freaking out but sure enough it was a very very HOT car... 13ish speedbumps later turning my car on and off a billion times trying to make it up the garage and I finally got into my spot and was able to enjoy the show... Still with no idea why it was overheating... And so the show began

This car nonstop had people allll around it, I lost my voice so quick explaining to people what a rotary is and all about the car was so cool to see how much interest everyone had in something that I had built and put so much time into

Here's the crazy part, I WON!!! Best drift 2017, I was walking back from checking out the other cars and my grandpa and dad were standing at my car with the biggest most proud smiles, I couldn't believe that I got top100 let alone winning my class (cause after all my car is a drift car..)

Little piece of plastic kinda makes it worth spending thousands of hours, dollars and tears building this thing haha just kidding. Just very surprised and finally felt like something I did proved I know what I am doing

So here's the finale to the car show itself, Solution:
After pushing my car down the parking garage to bump start it cause it had ran the battery down running the fan so much. We got it to the very bottom, and started diagnosing everything that happened. Late night parking garage car work haha. The fan was pushing rather than pulling... I knew it, when we fixed the wiring in the wash bay we had reversed the wires and it was pushing the air away from the radiator, If I had turned my fan off on the freeway it would have cooled down, but I had no clue. Reversed the wires, pulled the bumper off and took it for a drive, Couldn't get enough heat in the engine! I had the fan off the whole time because It kept going into warm up cycle at like 150 degrees, so yes I had a crazy trip but I made it and I won! So thankful to everyone that helped and I have been thoroughly exhausted ever since... The next day however was not so great.... I'll leave that disaster for the next post.

Alright well time for the sad post. Keep in mind this is a drift car and will eventually be thrashed but trashing a sideskirt is alot cheaper and more common than what happened. Went out to some storage crate location on the water in seattle and was about to do a feature with Krispy Media, which is crazy cause I never thought that would ever be possible. However once I arrived I popped the hood to let some heat out and put the hood back down, well I slapped the hood pins closed but it turns out they weren't through the actual pin, so guess what 20MPH later....

So after my windshield shattered we loaded it in the trailer and I spit some ramps out and my bumper landed on a stack of blocks, awesome

The damage wasn't all that bad but obviously not good, if anything it taught me a big lesson in testing my hood is locked every time I shut it.

Got a new windshield and went out with the boys, my car is really low... anyway lessons learned but everything is fine just have some dents in my roof and sunroof now

Pulled apart my exhaust and intake system because I had developed some major leaks... added egt and a vibrant design for my catch can system

Also added an oil temp sensor finally and figured out a way to make my oil pressure sensor work with the temp sensor being in such a tight space

This is the new (used) toyota MR2 pump that I have decided to figure out how to use to get power steering finally

Unfortunately It came with a nice cracked reservoir, so now I have to figure out how to plastic weld or something to fix that

My manifold is also cracked all the way around the outside of the flange, I bored it out too far and now it cracked through, yay

Fun story, my seat bolt decided to snap the nut loose inside of the bracket when it got stripped, yay for a bunch of work to get that out
