My 86 Base

id figure id start one of these as it seems to be progressing pretty well and ive been getting more and more compliments on it as i go continue on my build. my ill start with the specs from when i first got it and then onto the mods ive done and then move to pictures and update from there on out.
i originally purchased the car with the plans to turn it into a drift car, but ive recently came aboard with Insane Stance and Offset, and this is the progressing result. 1986 Mazda RX7 FC3S Base: (specs i bought the car) s4 13B with 40k miles S5 Rotors Minor Bridgport Tein Lowering Springs w/blown carquest struts Mazdatrix Short throw shifter exedy stage 1 clutch MODS IVE ADDED SINCE: (ill try to go in order of purchasing but if not...eh) MOMO steering wheel hub adapter 5zigen N1R Steering wheel Silver NRG quick release v2.0 2.5" Full Exhaust converted to single pipe RX7 TII Hood D2 RS Spec Coilovers Flash-to-pass housings(missing when i purchased vehicle) Autometer monster tach(not working when purchased) Autometer Oil Psi gauge(not working when purchased) Pace Setter longtube header Bosch 550 injectors "VIP" style cubholder S13 240SX Pignose Front lip 17x9.5 +12(f)/17x10 +15(r) Work VS-XX's (and yes, they are still 4 lug) Godspeed Gold Extended Lug Nuts Grip Royal- Royal Sleek steering wheel-350mm w/3" deep dish NRG Rose Gold Quick Release v2.8 redyed interior to factory red(did a 2 tone on the doors and redyed factory floormats) Attachment 678521 Attachment 678522 Attachment 678523 Attachment 678524 |
cars looks good love those wheels.
|
very nice indeed..
how did you/what did you use to redye the interior? |
@10aeRX7- trust me i do too lol. and i couldnt believe i found these. my buddy brought them back with him while he was stationed in japan. and they switched hands multiple times and got sold with a car. somehow someone from my town bought another car that these same wheels ended back up on lol. but i contacted work wheels and gave them all of the specs(to include all of the information on the 1 and only serial tag on the inside of one wheel.) and at first he asked me if i wanted to sell them, but then after i gave him all of the information on them he told me that these are one of 5 sets of 17x9.5's/17x10's that were made in 4 lug being factory from work all polished. and its a shame that almost all of the serial tags are coming off the inside of the wheels but theyve been on drift cars ever since ive known of these wheels and im sure have seen tons and tons of new tires being on and off and over time the tags just end up going with them i suppose. and the fix-a-flat in them when i first got them sure as hell didnt help either lol
@TheAnalogKiddd- i used actual vinyl/fabric spray from advanced auto. and rather than actually take the door panels off and do it what some people would consider "the right way", i taped off the hell out of the door. actually, when i did all of the redying (floor boards/rear mats) i left everything installed into the vehicle except for the factory floor mats and the seats. but the spray worked great, it stays a little stiff for the first few days but after that it goes back to feeling completely normal. |
Stance can't get any sexier keep it up
|
@Samito Built- thanks man. shes definetly coming along slowly but surely. im actually looking for(which ive found :D ) a set of Bride low max with takata harnesses that im going to try to pick up. its just all about the money lol. and unfortunately this rx7 had alot of rust on the fenders, which i found out the hard way when i rolled them to fit the wheels. it severly destroyed the bottom of the fenders. im going to end up changing them out. i found a set for only 100 bucks, but its still a matter of getting the money together. and i know people arent a big fan of it but im probably going to plastidip it for this season. as stated i recently got on with Insane Stance and Offset so im trying to get through my prospect period relatively quick and get bannered up for springfest in may

**UPDATE**
well. with the straightpiped exhaust being ungodly loud, and i just moved into my new place, i decided to be corteous to my neighbors and go get a muffler installed on my car...especially because i leave for work at 545 in the morning lol. but its some magnaflow muffler that i pulled off an eclipse in the junkyard at some point and time. and honestly.......I HATE IT. i still have the clutch fan in my car (and dont hate me, im still working on getting that done too lol) and i can hear the damn fan over the exhaust now. its damn near stock loudness now, the exhaust note sucks, and on top of that....im still running damn near straightpiped with this damn fartcan. but stupid quite fartcan. dont get me wrong, it looks good and all.......but thats all it does. later down the road im going to try to pick up an APEXi muffler but this magnaflow is pathetic lol. but heres a picture of it. do it! i love it and it literally fits perfect. no cutting or trimming. and i dont know how you feel about the rougher a lil more haggard look, but you could always do the famed drift stitch on it. sometimes looks pretty decent depending on how the rest of your build of course.
But I do love the sticker bomb look! Sorry thread jack! |
lol...no worries. and im looking forward to seeing whats in store for yours
