Help with my future build
 

Hey guys, i’m pretty new to the forum i used to be on here all the time for info on the rotary and rx7’s in general and i’ve decided i wanted one for myself. So my goal is i want build an FC and my budget is around 20-23 grand for everything. I want to put a big turbo in it blake olsens wide body and all those goodies and still have it as a semi daily driver if that’s possible, i’m not too sure what’s realistic with my budget and that’s why i’m here looking for help to see what i can do.

i know this is probably not the type of answer you had in mind, but i think it's more responsible (at least on my part) if i begin with this.

so, you don't have the car yet and that will be one of many major factors that will dictate how far your proposed budget will go. generally speaking, a cheaper car will require more work to make it right before you can modify, and likewise, a better baseline car will cost more.

second issue that can deplete a budget quickly is "time" - meaning, how much of the work can you realistically do for yourself? if you have to pay for someone's time in addition to parts, then suddenly, that budget has shrunk considerably.

finally, spend your time while you're looking for the car to make a solid plan. i mean actually write your plans down, price things out and make as many revisions as you need to before you actually start buying parts. an example of what i mean is what you posted above. you called the body kit by name. that's good. that body kit has a set price. put it on your plan/spreadsheet/whatever. an example of what NOT to do is say stuff like "big turbo", that can get you into trouble quickly. specify a realistic power goal for a "semi-daily driver" and then see what size turbo fits your goals. what is important to you? quick spool? big kick in the pants? ball bearings? fancy wheels? etc. when you get there, you can post what you came up with, and someone would be in a better position to help you choose what's right.

take your time and try to make the best decision you can. i wish you luck with this and i can't wait to see you expand on this build thread with photos of your "new" car when you get it.

This response actually helps me out a lot, i guess i was getting a little to ahead of myself i’ll definitely do some more research and then build a plan around it to see what my budget will get me. Thanks a lot i really appreciate the help !
