FC problems from Finland

Hi guys!

A little backstory. My FC has been imported from Japan to Finland and it has 84000 km on it. I have changed the brakes to newer ones and replaced the "JDM" big ass exthaust to a Racing Beat exthaust.

This summer I was supose to have it checked so I could start tearing it up on the streets, but the car thought otherwise.

After beeing in the garrage for about 4 months without been driven the car started up great and everything seemed to be okay. The idle started to wawe around 1100-500 rmp the very next day so I replaced the sparkplugs to BRQ9's, both the Lead and Trailing. I also replaced the NGK leads to Magnecor leads. the idle still continued to wawe around.

I putted that in the backround and thought the car was ready to be driven. It was a happy 60km drive before the engine died. On a straight road driving about 80km/h I started to accelerate on 5th gear and the car just died. RPM's strated to drop and eventualy the car died on the side of the road.

Measured the ignition and noticed that the LEAD coil was out. No spark to LEAD at all. I putted in a new ignition coil and fixed the charger aswell (it was purring out under 14V with over 2000rpm's). Now the car starts up but wont stay on idle.

On idle the rpm's drop down to 400 or less and the car dies. If you give it a little gas it runs quite well exept theres some banging coming from the exthaust.

What could be causing this? The ignition works fine when measured. Could it be an air leak or something?

Please help me! I was so looking forward to drive it this summer but it seems like that wont happen.

Here's a pic of it when I was replacing the exthaust an trying to strighten up the headlights. The front an backfnders have taken some hits at Japans roads but its only a cosmetic thing :D

And here's a video of starting it up with the old exhaust. The awfull noice is the broken ass clutch by the way.

Maybe this link will work

Check compression, it's quick and easy.

If it's revving well/quickly, backfiring and won't idle it could be blown. You need to rule that out first.

Ok, Im gonna check the compression and raport back as soon as I can. Hope I dont have to start my engine rebiuld yet, I was hoping ti do that next year.

Couldn't find my pressure meter, but I located a leak in the intake manifold. I sprayed some stuff called "Startti pilotti" wich if injected to the motor will rise the rpm. it's a good way to look for leaks. The leak was in the throttle itself. When I took the intake apart there was some coolant inside. Going to clean the seals off and replace them.

Got to check the pressure when I get my hands on a meter.

A big vacuum leak like that can be the cause of your condition. Make sure you've got the intake sealed up tight and try it out!

Haven't replied to this for a long time so, I got a working pressure meter and supprise supprise the rear rotor was dead.

The rear rotor pushed a low pressure as well, only abou 6,1 bars. So the engine rebiuld is going to happen sooner then I thought.

Now Im trying to find a garage for the car so I have enough space in my own to start ripping appart the engine. Im gonna post some pics along the way and probably ask for some tips from you gyus.

Progress will be made but not incredebly fast though cause I have to work on my other car as well.

Sit back and enjoy the mayhem!
