You're my idol Juiceh.
Before the line issue, did it drive like stock? That's one thing I love, being in a fast car that is just fine to drive from A to B. |
Before the fuel line issue?
Well stock the car was NA & Automatic... So I guess the answer would be no. :D Now if you mean like the stock turbo setup? Yeah it cruises like stock, but when you put your foot down..... not stock... http://smiliesftw.com/x/haha.gif |
those calipers give me a boner
|
^For size reference, note the 100 CD spindle size next to the calipers:

WOW!
i thought i had time and money into my project!!! fantastic ride!! |
Only 295 and 315's Juice ;)
|
I'm not quite as crazy as you Dave. :D
|
Nevermind.
|
where did you get those? is it direct bolt on?
|
Overnight parts from J-Pan!!! LoL j\k.... It actually took over 2 months to get them... I got them through AutoRnD. They are able to give a decent price. Still pricey parts though.
|
Removing the AC is the EASY way out ;)
Awesome work otherwise. My turbovert needs a new engine too :( |
^after a summer with no working AC in my jeep I think I may have to keep it in the vert. A triple black car in the summer with no AC is slow baking suicide.
|
Did you ever get those TEIN front struts installed correctly (I don't know if its been mentioned yet, I didn't read every post in your thread)? I noticed you have them 90* out, there meant for camber adjutment, not castor, or was this on purpose? Kick ass ride btw.
~Mike.......... |
Damn you have some $$$$ to blow eh? Nothing going cheap on this project. Good name brand everything.
Good job! I usually just skim threw these types of threads like I did this one and say, "just another thread", but you have my attention! |

Well, thanks to Dave my widebody kit is finally done!!!
I have not received the kit yet but here are some pictures Dave posted in the widebody thread. Pics! https://www.rx7club.com/forum/attach...1&d=1191092082 Stock fenders VS Wide fenders: https://www.rx7club.com/forum/attach...1&d=1191092082 https://www.rx7club.com/forum/attach...1&d=1191092082 I'll post more pics of the kit once I receive it. All I need is for this to arrive along with my retardedly huge shipment from J-Pan and then its off to the body shop! |
Yay! Bubble car!

Juiceh - The body kit finally made it!! Wherever you take that for paint has a task on their hands!! Staying black with the car? |
I think I will be keeping the car black, it depends how the paint samples turn out this week. I'm going to check out a few Lamborghini & Ferrari colors. There are a couple blacks on the list.

Hhmmm, you mean like the blue crimp connectors on the Bosch coils?
I didn't really think they would be a problem. But now that I think about it, with the weather that we sometimes get up here, I see how they could be. I'll see what I can do about them.... :) Any suggestions? Just popped in again. I work with Mariah Motorsports and have done the wiring on most of their race cars as well as all of their roadgoing cars for the passed couple years. I refuse to use any sort of small gauge crimp connectors (unless you purchase a proper crimper and unmolested factory style pins and sockets) in anything other than an emergency patch up, so I guess my suggestion is to solder everything unless you're using a proper crimp tool with factory style connectors. |
^Thanks. The wiring was gone through again. Anything that could be soldered has been now. :D
|
Well I stopped by the body shop today to pickup my paint samples.... Now I have a dilema... Everyone thats seen the color samples thinks I should paint the vert with the color that my FD will be getting, and I sorta think I should too! LoL!
It might be time for a color change for the vert.... Plates came back from lapping over a week ago, they were really worn. Worn enough to catch your fingernail on them very easily. Now they are being machined for studs. They should be back very soon. :D |
Endless FTW :icon_tup:
Nice build-up! |

~Mike.......... I cant believe nobody else pointed out that your setup was not able to dial in negative camber with the pillowbpalls monted the way they were. wow man too bad about all of the engine problems, thats a prime example of why some guys have moved on to LS1 swaps. holy moly those tires are amazing! props on the tire choice an width, hells yeah! so what width wheels are you going to run? I cannot wait for the pics, oh man so sick. more more more! best of luck finishing everything up and having no more problems. |
Keep it black, man. Although I may be just a little biased.
My little black vert (see avatar) just feels inadequate next to yours (: Think it wants to go hang with some Hondas until it feels better about itself. Very sick setup- thanks for being the custodian of an excellent example of rotary goodness. Kudos to you sir, for keeping your chin up through all those setbacks, and keeping an eagle eye on the temp gauge (: |
...fuk the black, you should ask 3,5, or 7 girls what their fav color is ON A CAR... because i hope your trying to pic up chicks and not dudes...
...unless you wanted a dudes opinion because you care about a dudes color pref over a chicks color pref.... ..buy the way, chicks dig red... and thats a fact! http://i166.photobucket.com/albums/u...2nd2007020.jpg |

Um I am trying not the thread hijack, but i think black would be sick with that kit. Please do not do like the guy above. His rims are too small, way too much wheel gap, he spent all of money and cant even get a decent suspension setup, s5 trim all the way around, and the paint underneath the wing on the trunk he cant open now is orange peeled like hell. Needs signal lenses too. Good idea, great try, just the details that make a huge difference in the end.
|
The trunk can still be opened with the S4 sport spoiler, it's the most tasteful thing on that car, imo. Not that there's anything wrong with going crazy on a car like that but of course the details always separate nice cars from rolling jokes (and no, I'm not calling the car pictured above one, I've seen MUCH worse than that).
Excellent choice on the widebody kit, glad they are starting to become available! What nose are you going to use with it? |

thx for your support... nice car BTW :rlaugh: http://www.insidehoops.com/forum/ima...ine=1149442407 |
dont get me wrong, I like the car, the kit, I just would love to see the s5 trim before the rear bumper to match everything, and the car lowered so it can fit the rims. The rims look good, deep lip and everything, especially in the rear, the color is cool and I really like how the top matches. Great idea, good execution. Great execution would be better to make everything on that car a masterpeice.
|
FACT, when you paint your car black it hides all the defining lines on the car. all the work you put into the bodywork will be lost/blended/not seen.
...but then again, if you dont want to be seen and stay "under the radar", then id agree with the bandwagon and go super glossy black.... ...and ofcourse let your paint *CURE* before you wet sand, buff, and wax her. |

If the body work's not perfect - it'll show with black more so then any other colour. Don't know how you got that presumption. ___________________________________________ Juiceh, best of luck with the colour choices. Sprayed out cards are the best way to do it. You can chuck one/two on your dashboard and hang onto them for a couple days and get an idea of how they look at dawn/noon/dusk etc. Especially if the colour you're thining about can't be found (easily) on a car to be viewed on a "full scale" so to speak. |

The kit will work with any nose or rear bumper but some aftermarkets will require slight modifications. Full kit is $2300 + shipping. Separate components of the kit are also available. Each kit will be made on a per-order basis. Turn around time should be about 3-4 weeks from time of order. pm me if interested. Sorry for the thread jack...now back to the regularly scheduled programming. Juice, I cannot wait to see pics of your car with the kit on it all painted. You should definitely have yours done before me or Darkspeed. Hope you guessed the correct offset with your wheels or you will be buying some spacers and longer studs to fill the fenders. I had a black TII years ago. I'll never own another black car. All I can say is just don't paint it white :D |

Also, track days make short work of a nice black paint job and make it look :icon_tdow. Black does look about the best when it is clean though. |
Thanks for ruining my dreams Dave!! Time to go: http://smiliesftw.com/x/suicide.gif

Well, like I said before there was some interesting things that were discovered during the teardown.
There was a nice dent in this rotor. That gash is about 3mm deep. Probably fine for re-use. The other rotor had a few nicks and scratches from apex seal damage, but nothing severe. http://img142.imageshack.us/img142/1...tordenteg1.jpg Now these two pics are interesting. Can anyone spot why? http://img142.imageshack.us/img142/5...stportsxn2.jpg http://img142.imageshack.us/img142/3...tports2kr8.jpg Porting looks a little uneven, eh? What is the discoloration above the exhaust ports and near the leading plugs from? http://img142.imageshack.us/img142/5...usings1fm1.jpg http://img142.imageshack.us/img142/3...usings2rf2.jpg http://img142.imageshack.us/img142/1...usings3ds0.jpg http://img142.imageshack.us/img142/1...usings4xc4.jpg The housings were 20k mile housings when they were assembled as my engine. I only put about 1500 miles on them. Specs on the new engine to come later.... |
dayum juiceh! i havnt looked into this thread in a while! your car is coming out absolutely amazing! endless brakes... bastard! that was one of my next mods before the fire.... (now i sport brembo;)) tires are HUGE! but then again, so is the widebody kit! i saw rx-hevens car in person, (before he widened it) and kit looked great! the new one looks even better! cant wait to see it on your car!
|
...i never said paint it red... i was giving FACTS... not opinion's...
...o..O...(although, posting my car here for reference was a bad idea...) ...good luck n-e-ways ...o...O...(what kind of girl picks up a guy in a Pontiac? cougars? tinnies?) |
Keep the car black... Use a Mercedes C-230 Kompressor Black or the Mercedes McClaren Black is super nice !!!
|
Looks like the burn marks on the housings were caused by lack of lubrication...
|
Were you running premix on this motor?
