Just a side note about the aircraft stripper.. make sure whatever paint system you use , especially the primer sealer, is compatible. I seem to remember reading someone's horror story.

I personally just DA'd my car. Prepped.Used an epoxy primer and then my paint.

I did the post repair on my cluster, learned it from the RC guys. I used copper tubing instead of the plastic - best upgrade ever!

looks like a Lot of fun (fun= work) but i like it. cant wait to see it come back to life!

Made the executive decision today to scrape the factory interior idea. The dash and door cards will probably be the only factory piece used in the final assembly (and not much of it) so I'll be posting up some extra stuff for sale a little later to fund the powerplant build budget.

Not much has been happening lately due to - 15 degree weather and lack of a heater in the garage. I did list the project for sale in the FS section but for some reason it never showed up... I'm selling off a bunch of the extra parts i have lying around for it to either fund getting the engine mounted and running or to get my wife a forester depending how long it take to get things moved. plans for the project as they sit
If it doesn't sell by spring, get it painted and cage installed.
If it doesn't sell by fall, get the engine mounts welded in and engine mounted.
If it doesn't sell by spring 2015, get it running and probably keep it as intended at the beginning of the project.

I'm more interested in finishing school at the moment so the project has been taking a low priority as spring semester approaches (especially due to the freakin cold weather lately in MN)

Pm'd you!

Minnesotamoose 01-16-14 11:28 PM

still available, I'm humoring getting the rotary parts to at least get the thing primed and semi complete to help move it. unfortunately it's still 5 degrees outside with no money to pay for it lol

Minnesotamoose 01-29-14 12:50 AM

Well the plan is to continue on with body work when i have some free time so I can work on some more industrious things come spring break (fix the seat mounts, finish mounting the steering column, finish removing the driver side speaker mount in the back) I'm also planning on fixing the hack job the P.O. did to the core supports and make some new bumper mounts from thing bar stock.

I'm trying to keep the s*** posting to a minimum but I was excited to mention I found a slew of inexpensive 2jz parts including a complete intake manifold, motor mounts and a mid sump(rear sump) oil pan to continue working on my project. It'll be a couple of week before I can do anything significant with them but I'm looking to buy a heater, 110 wire feed welder or spot welder, and an angle grinders to start working on mounting the engine and work on fixing the misc. Stuff that needs to be reinforced or replaced. I'll post some more images once I get the garage cleaned up and back into service mode ;)

Well, the rx7 sold today to a mechanic planning on doing a ls1 swap. Hopefully further down the line I can pick up another fc to continue on with this kind of project.
