Where is the clutch slave cylinder

I have tried to download diagrams and google images but am not sure. My clutch goes to the floor so it is time to replace both clutch master/slave cylinders. From what I can see, the master is up top with the cap and reservoir for fluid. Is the slave on the outside of the transmission? Does the transmission have to be dropped or opened to replace the slave cylinder? I apologize for not finding the right diagram and I have the books but am not seeing exactly where the slave cylinder is. I downloaded the explanation on how to change it from this forum though and it is pretty good.

Its right on top of the transmission. Right next to the oil filter and attached to the bell housing. Just follow the line from the master and it will lead you right to the slave.

And FYI, cause I'm sure the Nazi's are gonna start posting, this kinda topic belongs in another section. ;)

thanks a million

Yes, I know, some people like to jump on people for sport. I looked and looked trying to make sure I was in the right section but fumbled on this. Maybe it is the laptop, server, or just me, but I didn't find the right section and I know you are right. Sometimes I just give up. I did find a previous post on how to do this and, with your answer, I was able to figure it out. You have no idea what relief this is. I had an 09 Nissan 370Z and the slave cylinder (CSC) went out over and over and the dealer wouldn't fix it...until the warranty ran out. They put the cylinder inside the transmission meaning $1300 for the replacement. So, Mazda putting the parts where they did means I can do this myself. And the parts aren't that expensive either. Great news. Thanks
