Thanks Rogue, I hadn't seen those. The Eps are 15s, any idea on the price for the fronts only, don't really care about the rear.

I was quoted $1299 for the entire front kit, hubs, rotors, calipers and pads, along with needed bracketry and hardware. That was a couple months back.
Rear kit was like $750.

That might be worth it once the once the stock hp gets near trippled.

Have you ever considered a lightweight flywheel and aluminum driveshaft?

Yeah. I thought about getting the rotors F&R, then adapting GXL/T2 calipers. Roughly $1200 for just the 4 rotors and hubs/hats.
I guess those of us "lucky" enough to have nice 15" wheels in the 4 X 110 pattern have fewer options.....:wallbash:

Lithweight flywheel on the gutless low end 1/2 bp would be a nightmare to drive in town. With the TII swap, possibly.

I feel very, very lucky to have a set of 15" Epsilons. With new slotted rotors, stock pads and 225/5016" tires up front, the car stops quickly. I have not pushed it yet to see if I will have any fade issues. If I do, a pad upgrade will come before I bite the cash cow for a full brake upgrade.

I hear ya. I still need to get a disc brake/LSD rear for mine. I can suffer fade, but only when I am *really* pushing it at the track. The semi-metallic pads I have up front stink bad, just before fade starts to set in. I use it as an indicator to back off a bit.
I have a GXL that will soon be the track car, so I won't be looking to upgrade the GS beyond 4 wheel disc and good pads.

Very nice. I noticed you have 2 gauges mounted on the A pillar. I'm considering this myself to get them up where I can see them. What pods did you use? A+ on the power steering. These things are hard enough to turn a slow speeds, add wide tires and you'll be tired before you get out of the parking lot.

widebodies are not my personal taste. however, i like looking at the ones that are excellently executed so man, i just want to extend the utmost in congratulations and praise for your results. the car is beautiful and brings back many, many, many great memories when almost all of my friends drove Rx-7s (i'm the last one left) - but a friend had one just like yours. thanks for taking me back there. :)

A friend of mine used to work at Aerospeed, that's where the gauge pod came from. He recently told me thay no longer sell that model. Most any 2nd gen pod will work. It will take a little trimming and work with a heat gun. The one I have is a cheapie made for the 2nd gens. I think Auto Meter has one for the 2nd gens, but don't quote me.

I fou look closely you'll notice the tires aren't mounted to anything. There are no wheels. He just has tires rolled up under there to show what it will look like.

LOL, not only is the tire not mounted on a wheel, but I believe that's not even trochoid's car. I think that pic is of Dan's widebody project, still under construction.

they price per width. I think 5" outer was like 130 each. I would guess for what you are looking for would not be more than 160 each max.

Well, when the time comes fo new tires, I may have to give them a call. I would prefer a wider shell as opposed to using 2" adapters. Thanks again.

That is truly an amazing job you have done.
I am very impressed by the fact that nearly all of it was by your own hand!
What you have done would be called a "resto-mod" in classic/musclecar circles, meaning a retoration but including modifications either modern or period based. Making modifications is what makes the car "yours"!
I especially like your choice of wheels and the dash/gauges.
Your planned turbo system with Megasquirt controller sounds well thought out as well.
For the final color you might take a look at some of the very dark "cranberry" colors available, or possibly a "flip flop" that changes color with the angle of view.
If you can find a paint shop that has the House of Kolor computer simulation system they can run several options for you to see what the results would look like. (or bring your digital pictures to the SEMA show in Vegas and they may use your car to demo at the show)

How much does somthing like this cost to do? i was always inspired to do some project like this after seeing mariah's http://www.mariahmotorsports.com/project_silverbullet.htm i just love the commanding stance of the car, im sorry if this was already asked i just looked for pictures and did not really read many posts.

If I had farmed out all of the work, the cost would be 25k on the low side for a decent shop. As it sits, I have over 6k on parts and am looking at another 3k in parts for the TII install, as usuall, no outside labor costs.
