NE The start of Building a FB.

Hello everyone,
I'm building a 81 with a T2 motor. Hope to make 500whp, Air Ride set up, the GTU Wide body kit. Ultimate goal is to have a semi race feeling street car that can trip on the track while being unique. I will be continuing to update this thread with my progress and questions. So your experience and knowledge is appreciated. I have already stripped the interior and see image below for the exterior. Here are a few things I'm dealing with right now.

I have a rebuilt Stock 81 Transmission and I am curious to know if that will bolt on with no issue with a T2 Clutch (https://www.summitracing.com/parts/s...zda/model/rx-7).
Another thing I'm looking into is how the drive-train is going to workout. Shooting for 500whp and I'm Sure the factory rear end wont hold that. Any help is appreciated.
Anyone have a radiator recommendation? I will be doing custom brackets for the inter-cooler, might as well do the same with the radiator.

PFA (Door cards are off and ceiling is stripped as of now)

welcome. did u not see the "build threads" sub section in this section where this should have been posted? there's a place for everything. makes it easier to find things without having stuff posted all over the forum. maybe a mod with the ability can move this to the appropriate section.

Yes, but anything north of 200-250HP and you'll shred it pretty quick. You need to find a FC turbo box at the very minimum, or go with something even stronger than that.

Another thing I'm looking into is how the drive-train is going to workout. Shooting for 500whp and I'm Sure the factory rear end wont hold that. Any help is appreciated.
Most people will tell you to get a Ford 8.8" or Toyota Hilux diff.

Anything thick and dual-pass with the inlet/outlet on the right side, and that will fit under the hood is all good. Doesn't have to be a name brand. Get a Spal or Davis Craig electric thermo fan too.

Welcome. Like already mentioned the trans won't hold nor will the diff. At minimum a T2 setup or adapt a t56 and get a beefier rear end. If it's a road race car you can probably get away with T2 components and 500 since the driveline shock in those conditions is not as aggressive as drag or drifting. Good luck and keep motivated. Been working on mine for 11 years so far, but I am seeing the light at the end now.
