But dont worry if i work a good 144 hours in the next 2 weeks i can get the rebuild kit purchased and get the motor prepped for removal. I hope i can last that long for the next 12 days because thats gonna be the most hours ive worked in quite sometime.

Only thing i do not own is an engine stand yet and a buddy is gonna let me use his cherry picker for the motor.

A 5 gallon pail works perfect for an engine stand. ;)

haha sounds like a thought to take into consideration.

as of Saturday my car will be moved to a less violent location for safe keeping and further work.

My working on the car may slow down in the coming months due to a performance build I'm gonna be taking part in for an old Mercedes Diesel we are converting for Turbo to maybe help incorporate our business and skills towards either fuel types.

In the mean time I will clean up anything I can take apart and get it looking shiny and not rusted and acid soaked for the last 30 year :)

me and my wife are working on the housing issue as we speak but its gonna be a long grueling process for me to keep my investment and hers as well I will keep posted about it within the next few months with anything that has to do with the car.

I will make sure to take any pictures I can and keep them for a nice update but other then that life will keep moving forward as I gather parts and get my chance to finally tear down my first nikki and rebuild it I so can't wait for that!!~ :DD

plentymoon 12-08-14 12:36 AM

Finally got the car moved to another shop at a friends house where we are working on our Race Mercedes lol.

We will be pulling both engines out hopefully by next Saturday and begin tear downs on both.

I will get pictures of it after my motor is out i'm probably gonna let it sit for a bit and clean up my engine bay and get that started up so I can have a nice clean engine bay.

you will laugh at how big our small makeshift shop is doing xD

Pictures of the mercedes progress so far it still needs to be all cleaned off and get a few things rebuilt before the motor is put back together

And the other two pictures are of my buddies who are helping me out and kinda helping me work out some personal issues that im having.

So far everything has been a blast and im having alot of fun learning more and more about both engines and fuel types.

Just picked up my new motor today it has 83k miles on it and was really do for a rebuild worse then mine ever was. I tore it all down in the first 3 hours of getting it home inspected irons and housings.

Front housing is garbage and will be used for porting practice. All the Irons were in almost perfect shape just from my understanding of inspecting things on thse motors.

So for now I leave you with the torn down pictures of my original motor and now one picture of thw new motor I picked up before I tore it down more pictures will follow of the newer motors parts and Im not gonna lie my original Rotors were twice as clean coming out then theses ones were.

Stay tuned folks.

I have been questing for a proper daily driver and saving but jave not found anything that drives like an rx7 thinking i should just get a honda call it good. Anywho when I finally get adjusted to my new shift and slightly better pay I will try to get some work done.

Yay for progress!

plentymoon 01-30-15 11:30 PM

I know right tomorrow before work I'm going to my buddies to pick up all my engine parts and bring them as well and let everything soak in the solvent tank.

I enjoyed taking the carb apart it was easy and quick but remembering how to put it back is always the challenge I love over coming my biggest weakness my memory.

Jeff20B 01-31-15 12:54 AM

That's why I use the search function on the forum, to find my old threads where I wrote a bunch of stuff down, so I wouldn't have to remember. It works.

plentymoon 01-31-15 02:07 AM

Haha don't worry Jeff I will be looking up older threads because I still have to do sec mechanism mod too and get it boost prepped not sure if I should just try it with a supercharger first and see if I like it more or just stay on the turbo road and finish collecting parts. Because I have no problem going to the junk yard for an old supercharger in need of a rebuild either.

Soaked them in a bucket full of solvent for 3 hours took'em to the tank wire brushed them down best I could rinsed off with more solvent and horse hair brush and came out almost perfect still some what dirty in some corners but good looking enough to sit pretty on a fresh rebuild without it being an eyesore.

So got the engine to work with some help from a buddy. worked all night and got off my shift and cleaned my engine parts for 2 hours and here is what I got!

When my taxes are done I'm opening a credit card and buying the rebuild kit and start building my credit line from this car so I can keep my interests going one payment at a time.

Not sure if you guys can see them clear enough from my potato camera phone but will my housings really be ok for running a rebuild this notches in the plating of the houses kinda freak me out when I look at them. The engine didn't have a problem before I ruined it so But I would like some reassuring.

I've used housings like that before. The first start took a little bit more cranking but that was it.

Since you can't buy new 12A housings anymore, those housings you have there are in really good shape. I'd totally use them. Get some Atkins apex seals because they break in quickly on missing chrome housings like yours.

If you run into trouble starting for the first time, hook up two batteries in parallel for 24 volts and it will start in like one or two seconds of cranking. Just isolate the 24v from the rest of the system so you don't burn out your ignitors. If what I just said is above your head, I can explain further after your engine is together.

Oh and while I'm thinking about it, did you inspect your housings for ice damage? Are there any cracks in the aluminum? Any pitting from sitting with old coolant or straight water? Be very thorough. And for the heck of it, measure for crush from possible overheating at any point in its life. Might as well, right?

I didn't see any pitting or anything like that just the missing chrome but ok I'm buying my rebuild kit from atkins so you got it dude. I just got paid and already got my taxes done some i'm gonna have a whole butt load of money so long as I don't buy anything else.

plentymoon 02-17-15 10:10 PM

So a little up date taxes are done and on the way getting back a lot more then expected enough to rebuild and get a lot more things to spruce up and fix.

plentymoon 02-21-15 12:28 AM

I just ordered the rebuild DVD from mazdatrix but now I'm confused only payment option.

I used COD/CC and didn't have to use like a PayPal or some other form of payment does that mean I pay at a later time or just when I have my credit card handy?

Jeff20B 02-21-15 11:54 AM

I never had issues buying stuff from Mazdatrix. Never used COD either. Maybe call them up on Monday.

7krayziboi 02-21-15 12:22 PM

Yup I used my CC when ordering the Video & some parts, never got a problem

*they don't keep your CC number if that's worrying you.

Cool guys & video.
