Good progress. Any future plans for the motor?
Got FB calipers and caliper brackets. Brakes and buttoning up the fuel system should be happening within a couple of weeks. |
Not much to add as of late with time and money being a factor.
Got Mallory fuel pump mounted with fuel pump. Got rear brakes apart. Need to replace wheel bearings then put all the new hardware in! Figured out some loose ends under the hood. Slowly but surely getting everything together! |

How it sits today...
Attachment 664972 Figured some important things out. I have the electronic distributor! Means some wiring but definitely an added bonus! Also means I am just missing the harness from the alternator to the voltage regulator...so if anyone can help me find that, it would be very much appreciated! More motivated to get this driving before winter! |
very clean, impressive

Some quick cell pics with update.
Fuel system is now complete minus some cleaning up of the hoses near the fuel pump. Also wired up the Autometer gauges! http://i1129.photobucket.com/albums/...ps668b9a0c.jpg http://i1129.photobucket.com/albums/...ps95773c3e.jpg http://i1129.photobucket.com/albums/...ps149f2353.jpg |
How much power does the engine put out with the Holley carb? do you have a 3" exhaust pipe system?
|
Don't know what the power will be with the PP and the Holley carb. Maybe it will make it's way on the dyno when I'm done. I'll be running the Racing Beat road/race exhaust.

Got to work early today so did a little work. A small custom touch...relocated the lighter to the glove box. Used an extra lighter out of a Mazdaspeed3! LOL I liked the fact it had a cover.

Woah, just found your build. It's fantastic. Love the rotor cue.
|
Thanks for the positive comments!
Gauge panel wired and installed! http://i1129.photobucket.com/albums/...ps9570e226.jpg Cleaned up the fuel pump area. May clean some more. Looks different in pic! LOL http://i1129.photobucket.com/albums/...ps6d5d4235.jpg |
Looks good! Like the custom mods you've done and I like the 7-ball shift knob. I'd have the 8-ball cause it always seems I'm behind it.
Did the FB front coil springs drop right in or did you have to modify at all? Scrolled back up but maybe I missed that part. |
Thanks for the compliments.
As far as the fb struts and springs I ended up making spacers for the strut housings (fb strut inserts are shorter than sa), and bought fb spring mounts because the top of the struts are different at the top of the shaft between the two. |
Started the little beast up today. A little loud as it's just the header! LOL
|
Got the brakes all done except for the bleeding.
It's getting to close to moving under its own power! http://i1129.photobucket.com/albums/...psfadf347f.jpg http://i1129.photobucket.com/albums/...ps91b70c0f.jpg |
Coming along well mate :)
|
Looks GREAT! I wish mine was that far along. Love the new springs and brake hardware. And you were right, that video was a touch loud - I'd be run out of the neighborhood if I tried that!
|
Thanks for the compliments!
I don't make it habit to make a lot of noise in my neighborhood but I had to start it! LOL |
Reminds me of the first startup on my first FC project.
|
Pulled the car out to give it a much needed wash!

That's wayyyyy cool!
|
Thanks! Original panel was in terrible condition and I thought the hatch area needed more light (as I plan on driving this car at night).
|
My car is a beater.......just did the 24 hrs of LeMons at NHMS. The car ran great and stayed together even though we revved the poor thing to 8500 rpm.
