Wire tuck looks really good, I've been half-debating doing it to some extent on mine for a while now. The whole no brake booster idea is an interesting one; I've never really heard of people doing it, but it does provide a much cleaner look.

Good job overall on the build though, keep it going!

Thanks Bobbo, it shouldn't be to hard to do then. and the rod shouldn't be hard at all.

thanks for the info

Bobbo 06-03-10 05:05 AM

yeah, if you are even minorly mechanically able it shouldn't be a big deal... OH YEAH when i said close to 6:1 i meant anywhere from 6:1 to 6.9:1 lol... i did the booster and the wire tuck primarily because i have always wanted to and you just don't see it too often on rx7's for some reason.... the booster and wire tuck is more of a honda thing if i dare say..... mostly cause honda people are young and poor i guess.... gotta do as much the free shit as i can to get her lookin' good lol

Gurew 06-03-10 05:17 AM

nice

funny thing is i have the front end of my car already apart to do a wire tuck  and was thinking what i would need to do to get rid of the booster and then saw this thread.:nod:

It definitely seems to be a Honda/VW thing. I've seen some clean FCs and FDs, but not a full tuck (then again, I haven't looked) and this is probably the first tucked FB I've seen.

11:39.... my mind is altered by vodka.... i have the alternator wired in, still have much much more to do with just the wiring alone... my goal with this 7 is to do everything i ever dreamed for an rx7... some may call it crazy, some may call it ugly, some may call it dumb, but i call this car mine... this car will be everything i have ever wanted to even think might possibly be a bad ass for an fb for the street, with only the most important shit it needs to function, and everything i can possibly do to make it mine and make it unique.... personally i am amazed this car has made it to 3 pages..... hopefully there will be many more to come... thanks for the support from rx7club members and keep your eyes peeled, because i am only just beginning!!!!!

my plans for this thing will be a little outlandish but hey, wtf is allz i gotsta say!!!!!

Bobbo 07-14-10 12:07 PM

got some work done..... the alternator is now hard wired to the battery, dist. is wired up most of the way... redid the center console so now the battery isolator and switches are mounted there, i have to wire up the push button starter still ..... made the bracket for the ignitors which will be mounted inside the car to avoid the added heat from the engine bay and to keep the engine bay as wire free as possible....

been moving right along here lately, i would have more pics but my camera ran out of space so i have to clear the sd card before i can show pics of everything..... everything is wired in now minus the e-fan which i will hopefully get in tomorrow.... it's all about ready for me to tear it back down and start protecting all the wiring.... took me 200ft of wire when all was said and done, i can't imagine how much wire i ended up removing... finally broke out the welder and am now in the process of filling all the holes in the car from badges, mirrors, the antenna, and rust.... once i get it all done, and if it doesn't catch on fire when i go to test it i am gonna pull the rearend and throw in some kia sportage gears and an lsd, install the ss brake lines, coilovers, and big brake kit.... im also in the process of welding up my fixed headlights which will be in the still of the 22c works 1st gen... like i said all the pics of this stuff coming soon, but for now i have some pics of the wiring and the fender where i have started welding up the holes

You are doing a lot of good work. Are you planning on cleaning the engine and bay? That's a lot of work to just leave the bay covered in grease and dirt.

Bobbo 07-24-10 08:21 AM

gotta get it running 1st...... no point in cleaning it if it's never gonna start again lol

Bobbo 07-24-10 09:29 AM

put the radio surround all together today, i am kinda disappointed with it, the aluminum i used was a little too thin so it has some imperfections in it.... i think i'm gonna redo do it at a later date with something more cool like carbon fiber, or a street sign or something just to make it look a little more pretty....

sweet!!!!!! nothin' like workin' on a 7 while baking like a turkey!!!!!! i'm on my way

Bobbo 07-24-10 03:50 PM

got the car all finished and went to test it before i tore it all apart again to wrap up all the wires and the damn turn signals wouldn't work.... so i spend about an hour tracing wires and trying to figure it out with no luck.... then as i'm staring at the cluster f*ck of wires i realize THE HAZARDS AREN'T PLUGGED IN!!!!!!! i plug in the hazard light switch and all is good.... now that i spent an hour tucked up in the floor board for no reason i have been drained of all motivation today.... i think tomorrow i might be ready to actually get the dash back in it!!!!!!!

Bobbo 07-25-10 01:13 PM

got the dash in today, got the wiring all wrapped up... i need to get the coils wired up (just crimping ends and such) and it should be ready to try to start... also got a pic of the ignitors in the car

thats badass man.. i just happened to look in on this.. i have one question though. what was the purpose of mounting the ignitors inside of the car and not on the dizzy?

i converted it to direct fire ignition, which has 3 ignitors instead of the 2 on the dizzy.... so now it has the one on the dizzy for trailing and 2 for leading (which can't be mounted to the dizzy)... i put them inside the car so i didn't have them cluttering the engine bay and to keep them away from the engine bay temperatures

from the sign store i'm sure! if you've ever been to one, i highly recommend, they are NEAT.

mazdaverx713b 08-04-10 03:34 PM

never been to one. behind my house is the city's street dept. they have loads of old signs that they could donate to a sign store or auction off to sign collectors.
